Who has Corn Beef Cabbage for St Pats Day?

If you like , potato's, cabbage and corn beef you will love it !!


My son at the age of 10 swore that he would never eat it because of the way it smells but once I talked him into trying it he loved it. He begs me to fix it when he see that I have bought corn beef.

I like corned beef and cabbage when Im in the mood for it and thats just not right now we pan fry the cabbage in butter its good thst way

Never tried that, I'll have to give that a try. there has been this recipe going around FB for friend cabbage and sausage and onions. Sound delicious.


I do love eating it raw thou. Has a very sweet taste to it, I will sprinkle a little salt on it.

I understand... I never ate cabbage until 10 years ago... DH likes it and ate it through childhood and forced me to cook it for him, lol! He also likes scrapple, and I tried to cook some... threw the whole pan out the door!

I have ate it since I was little.. Now my dear DH doesn't like cabbage.. or he says it doesn't like him.. but I cook it anyway.. lol... it's a tradition around here to have it with potatoes and onions and carrots!

Ok so for all you corn beef and cabbage lovers out there.


What is the best way to cook it? I cook mine in the crock pot on high for about 6 hrs. but sometimes it doesn't seem like the corn beef gets moist/ cooked enough.


So, what can I do to fix that ?

I am not into cooked cabbage either.

My brother is flying tonight to Dublin for St Pat's Day. He is a foodie and I am sure will enjoy all of the traditional delicacies.

I cook in the crockpot on low for 8 hrs. I dony like cooking anything on high it seems to dry things out

Robyn brings it to a boil, then simmer for 3ish hours... it might be about an hour before it's done, she puts in the carrots, cabbage, onions. Last nights was the bomb!

Youll be happy with it.. My father in law when he was alive always made the corned beef and it was always good but he made it in a pressure cooker. When he passed I started making it only I dont like using pressure cooker I had one catch on fire once so Im frightened of them anyway I would bake them and no matter what i did they would turn out dry then one yr my brother in law said make it in the crockpot 8 hrs on low so i did and it turned out and i was able to carry on the family tradition so i was happy
