| What (or where) is your fave way to vacation? I've still got vacay on the brain since we returned from our cruise last Nov. We enjoyed it so much we have another one booked for this Nov! I feel cruising is a for the most part safe, affordable, and easy way to see the world. However I hate flying, but the flights are not too bad for cruises out of the US. For us about 5 hrs or less. I don't feel like it's a vacation unless there is warm weather and turquoise blue waters. We used to RV when I was still a kid. I do not want to do that again! I'm sure many love it, but for me I feel trapped. I am sure many people will say they feel trapped on a ship! So what are your fave vacay memories? How about your dream vacation?

YT 2000 Club Member | I love camping! We traveled and did site seeing as a child and I hated it! We now have a fifth wheel and go camping a few time during the summer....sometimes for a long weekend and sometimes for a week. We are able to take our yorkies with us where ever we go and that is so important to us! I have family that go on a cruise every year. I am petrified of flying! Besides I would have a very hard time leaving our yorkies! I am attached to them as they are to me!

| My favorite way to vacation is in big cities and/or historical sites. While I enjoy the wonders of nature, I can only take a day or two of it. My all-time favorite vacation dates back to when I was 9 years old, when my family moved to Washington, DC. We took 2 weeks driving up the East Coast, stopping at all of the Colonial and Revolution era historical sites. This was right after the Bicentennial in 1976. We also spent a couple days on Cape Cod and in Maine for a little beach time.

I like history but oooollllllddd stuff. I am leaning towards Mayan ruins for when we are in Belize. We went to Tulum last time. You saw the pics, I mean come on! Gorgeous! And People put Tulum in last place in comparison with Lamanai. You have to take a bus for 1.5 hrs on a bumpy road, then take a speed boat up river for another hour to get to the site in the middle of the jungle. On the way supposedly you can see crocs, monkeys, birds, iguanas, etc. And bugs. Lots and lots of bugs. One day I want to go to New England and have all the lobster rolls and oysters I can eat!

| I didn't like it at the time, but am glad my dad forced us to go to a lot of National Parks. Yosemite, Grand Canyon of course. But also took us to Bryce Canyon, Arches, Monument Valley, a few other places. I like seeing the power of nature. But I hated the portion being in the car! My dad loves to drive. We once RVd from CA to Key West! and back! It took over two weeks.

I would love to see the ancient ruins in Central and Southern America, and I would enjoy the nature (aside from the bugs) along the way. I'm not sure any East Coast seafood is as good as it once was. It's probably mostly imported, lol. We can't find good stuff in the DC/MD/VA area anymore.

From what I learned last time, Belize has the highest concentration of Mayan ruins, not Mexico as I once thought. I saw a map and the sites were all dotted up and down the coast of Belize. This time we will also hit ports in Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, in addition to back to Belize and Coz. and Grand Cayman (swimming with sting rays!) Very reasonably priced. About as much as we paid for sailing on the Monstrousity of the Seas (Allure) with crappy ports. Plus we get the all we can drink package too!

Actually last time before I went my friend got slashed by a sting ray in Long Beach right before I left and he told me all about it. He got two very deep wounds. That bugger got him twice! https://www.google.com/search?q=lama...=isch&imgdii=_

| I like beaches, amusement parks, cities and shopping. I also like to go to Historic places, I'd love to go back to the Renn fair. Despite my location, near NY, Philly, and all kinds of historic stuff, I've only been able to go those places with school. I'm dieing to go back to Disney World, I'm obsessed with Disney. My dream vacation is to go to Tokyo Disney. Last summer I took Lola outlet shopping twice, it was great. I'd love to find more vacation spots to take her. |
