I have family that go on a cruise every year. I am petrified of flying! Besides I would have a very hard time leaving our yorkies! I am attached to them as they are to me! |
That is probably the worst part of going on vacation. But MIL watches them while we are gone and it's worked out fine. After our big move, there are no direct flights to anywhere out of Vegas it seems, so we will drive back to CA to drop off the pups with MIL and then take a flight out of LAX. I'm not scared of flying, I just hate it. Close quarters with potentially annoying strangers. For hours.

My all-time favorite vacation dates back to when I was 9 years old, when my family moved to Washington, DC. We took 2 weeks driving up the East Coast, stopping at all of the Colonial and Revolution era historical sites. This was right after the Bicentennial in 1976.
We also spent a couple days on Cape Cod and in Maine for a little beach time. |
I'm the opposite! I don't feel like being in a big city is a vacay. It feels more like a business trip. Bf always wants to see if there is a wholesale district or what's hot there. On an island in the middle of the ocean, never have I heard one peep from him about work.
I like history but oooollllllddd stuff. I am leaning towards Mayan ruins for when we are in Belize. We went to Tulum last time. You saw the pics, I mean come on! Gorgeous! And People put Tulum in last place in comparison with Lamanai. You have to take a bus for 1.5 hrs on a bumpy road, then take a speed boat up river for another hour to get to the site in the middle of the jungle. On the way supposedly you can see crocs, monkeys, birds, iguanas, etc. And bugs. Lots and lots of bugs.
One day I want to go to New England and have all the lobster rolls and oysters I can eat!
