| Christmas decorating already? Has anyone started or is done their Christmas decorating? I talked to my mom the other day who did all her decorating by nov 1. Ironically when I was driving into work that morning I was thinking that I might do it this weekend and REALLY enjoy it for the season. I really love the tree up and lit at night, it makes me happy. I am thinking of putting it up sooner than after Thanksgiving. Its so much work to decorate to only have it up for, what seems like, the quickest month of the year! So when are you decorating and putting up your tree this year?

| I've been fighting myself not to put it up too. I love it and want time to enjoy it. I usually do it right after Thanksgiving, but I think this year I might not make it that long. I usually take it down the day after Christmas though. When its over, its over!

| Neighbors were putting net lights on their bushes the other day....couldn't believe it...it's not even Thanksgiving! Then again, I remember climbing ladders to hang icicle lights on cold snowy days, wishing I'd put them up earlier, so maybe they are on to something!

| Baaaaaah humbug... lol I'm not really the decorating type so I'm putting it off for as long as I can. I did see few of my neighbors that have put up the lights right after Halloween though. |

| I've just never understood that. Of taking down the outside lights the day after. There's so much work involved in decorating, why not enjoy it a bit longer? We've always put stuff up the day after Thanksgiving and kept it up until the weekend after New Years, but this is my first Christmas with my boyfriend & his daughter in our own house, free to decorate as we want. I've already got all of our interior decorations and I'm fighting myself not to put it up this weekend. I was planning on next weekend, but we'll see if I make it that far!

| Our neighbors are starting to put up the lights. The neighborhood decorating contest grows bigger every year. They leave their lights up through January.

| Some people around here leave them on at night until the end of Jan. I love that! Once the holidays are done it's a long cold 3-4 months here so I like seeing the lights on through Jan!

| heck we still have our outside lights us since last year, or at least part of them but they are on dense bushes so they are not noticeable. I know the date the inside will be decorated, and it is Friday Nov. 22nd, I already have my helpers scheduled to be here at 9 am. My aim is to finish in one day, but realistically I will be happy if it is done by that Sunday, then I can enjoy the Thanksgiving weekend and the holiday season. I will not take it down till at least a week after Christmas.

| Oh yea! That gives me a good excuse, someone else already has theirs up... Wish the weekend wasn't so busy & i might have done it. I don't put outside lights either. Too much work to make them look nice, plus I can't see them outside! I do enjoy everyone elses though.

| I'm surprised that a few of you don't put up outside lights. I'm always saying I'm going to skip the outdoor lights, but never do... I felt obligated at my last house, because I was the house you'd see coming up the hill to go out of the subdivision, so felt like I had to. Now I live on the main road, so feel like I have to. Not to mention, there are NO street lights on my road, so if I don't put lights up on my house of some kind during dark winter, I always miss my driveway & drive past my own house.
