| I remember when K-mart and walmart actually closed at 5:00 on Saturday and didn't open at all on Sunday. Motts 5 and dime. Carhops-not sonic ones either. Drive in movies (we still have one about an hour away)

McDonald's hamburgers were .20 Under the BIG M at McDonald's, it said "thousands and thousands served." Cheapest gas I ever bought was 23.9 cents

| Do you remember... when being gay simply meant you were happy? playing on the playground was the best part of a drive-in movie? you could buy a piece of candy or bubblegum for ?you saved or searched for bottle caps to go to the movies? the family ate dinner together and you'd better be home at the appointed time? the only TV you had was black and white and was in the "family room"? |

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Do you remember Woolworths?! (loved going there for candy and cheap stuff!) Do you remember when your phone number was only FIVE digits? Mine was 4-8220 as a kid! Do you remember the dang cords on telephones? So annoying as a teenager when you need your privacy to discuss extremely important dramatic things!

![]() Yep, only 13 channels but if you turned the inner dial you could get more. And when my dad would make us kids stand there and turn the dial until he found something worth watching. "back and forth and back in forth, waiting for commercials to end"...ugh !! Quote:
I also remember that those when we were kids my mom worked at the telephone co and could pop in on our extremely important dramatic things any time she wanted. So, frustrating. Oh yea, we had a separate 13" set up just for our Atari game !!!

| Do you remember when you played your first 45 record and had to put the little yellow plastic piece in the middle? you remember playing with a wooden doggie on a string that went clack clack across the floor? Do you remember when popcorn on a string was the garland on your Christmas tree? And oranges were the best thing in your stocking?
