I did quit at one point I mentioned before, when Gus was in a scene that I thought was too much but a day later, I felt I had gone so far into it and wanted to see how it all played out, you get so attached to the characters. I'm glad I went on to the end. Brilliant in every way!!

Edit- just saw ur other post lol. I don't disagree with your assessment at all to be fair. But it would still make a very boring tv show.

I actually began to hate Walt at the beginning of the 5th season. For a while, I feel like I kept rationalizing his behavior and what he was doing. But even the creator of the show said he did not like him anymore in the end. I'll discuss more after you see the ending tho about more of my feelings! But I NEVER felt like Walt was satanist. Yes he did bad things, often with good reason, often not, but I did not feel like he was pure satanist with any thing he ever did. And one of his last quotes in the last ep, I was so happy to finally hear him say. Jesse would be who I think I cared about most. Ya know he was a young kid messed up in a bad world, he had grown up in a somewhat wealthy American family, 'good parents', as did Walt, they both had no real 'reason' to wind up like they did. They just... did. I think a lot of times ppl only think 'bad people' raised in 'bad families' and 'bad neighborhoods' do this, but no. He was kinda trapped in this world, and yes he could have left at any time, but Mr White really did manipulate him. Alot. Sometimes it was for his own sake, other times it wasn't. (spoiler from season 2----) Like I did not disagree with him letting Jane die. She was turning him into a heroin addict, and was basically going to take all of his money, and they both prob would've died from an overdose anyway. So in a way he did Jesse a favor. As far as me... I have to be honest, I think if I were in Walt's position, and knew I was going to die fairly soon, and had lived a fairly boring life, and knew I deserved more, I can't say I wouldn't feel the same way, knowing I was going to die and leave behind nothing. As much as money will not necessarily make people happy (as we def see in this show), it does had a sense of easiness that you wouldn't otherwise have. And to know you're going to die and leave your family with nothing but debt, can't be a GOOD feeling. I could never see myself doing something as awful as cooking meth, mostly because I'm really not smart enough and would prob blow myself up but I would prob do things I wouldn't have otherwise.

But I can see BB and living vicariously through its characters and all the shocking action as a means of coping in this frustrating world, too. haha No kidding. I'm really sorry, though, Brit. Your thread, your fav show and I am enjoying reading about you all enjoying it. Interesting insights right and left and some good takes on what people draw from their entertainment. Reading about BB is really enjoyable. Just like Mad Men, Lost and the Sopranos, shows I really didn't watch except here or there but great to read all about people's take-aways from them. | Another thing, I love that show can bring about discussions such as this! That's the point of it... a lot of ppl WILL hate certain characters. And Vince Gilligan (the creator/writer) said he went to do something no one else has done before... and that's make a main character go from totally 'good' to totally 'bad'. He wanted to take him from Mr Chips to Scarface. But we started with a very sympathetic man. Most really COULD understand Walt's reasons. And then over the course of the show, you either begin finding it very hard to side with him anymore, or you're still kind of rooting for the underdog. But I guess the deeper question would be, did Walt always have this in him? Was he inherently bad? What about Jesse... maybe deep down he was inherently good all along? I love that over the course of the 5 seasons, they kind of switched places, and Jesse became the 'morale' of the show. If everybody did everything right all the time, we wouldn't be human beings. Watching a show like this can make let you see the other side of things. A lot of people live in a world like this, even if we don't. So I like getting a glimpse into this part of our society. It's very intriguing to me. And damnit, Priscilla, finish already I am DYING to talk about the ending with you!!! LOL....

I get ya... every show has it's place. I mean I watch Boy Meets World and Full House every morning before work. Wanna talk about morally right shows... lol... But I always love getting a bit darker too. And I love the shows that are such a thrill and keep me on the edge of my seat. It's entertainment to me. And I have always been kind of a 'deep' person so I love really getting into the psyche of humans. I've been at a fairly dark place in my life before, but I realize many others have been thru much worse, and I always kept that in the back of my head. But to me, it's more relate-able I guess, because my family has never been the center of a moral compass, but in the end we're all good and decent people, with good hearts. But most of my family tends to choose the 'wrong' thing, vs. the right... so I think that's why I've always been keen to watch darker, more character-driven shows, possibly. And I tend to be the opposite, out of my family, I'm more of the 'good' one LOL... so sometimes I guess I just like to go over to the 'bad' side and see things from their perspective maybe.

| I talked to so many people that did not realize what Walt did at the end. Pricilla do not look at this > > > > Walt fell on Jessie to save him.

Again Priscilla DO NOT READ -- --- --- ---- --- --- I noticed right away.... I thought it was a really really GREAT way to end things. It's like he finally did right by the person who he had wronged the most really. Even though he totally went there with the intention of killing him, once he saw his condition and that he was being forced to cook, I think his humanity came back, and he let his anger slide for a bit.... and in some sick weird way, it's a wacky love story. Until they end, they did care about each other. | That's why you gotta watch it again. The series is filled with so many cool Easter eggs that are really easy to miss the first time through.
