I don't disagree with your assessment at all to be fair. But it would still make a very boring tv show.
LOL. It was a silly assessment on your fun thread but I was sorry later after I posted it! One of those forehead-slapping moments like that's their show, they love it, they love the writing, characters, every moment of it - geez, Jeanie! Still, in answer to your comment, there were Little House on the Prairie, the Waltons, NYPD Blue, Blue Bloods and even today shows like Downtown Abbey where finely drawn characters faced terrible, life-alteringly, bad, often very unfair things, faced them bravely with courage but found a way to help others, too, didn't cop out, thumb their nose at society and go bad as a means of coping and still created/create some darn-fine story telling. Sometimes things don't have to be edgy to be thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying, leave you a little better off because you saw how some character managed themselves through something awful. Good life skills and lessons.

But I can see BB and living vicariously through its characters and all the shocking action as a means of coping in this frustrating world, too. haha No kidding. I'm really sorry, though, Brit. Your thread, your fav show and I am enjoying reading about you all enjoying it. Interesting insights right and left and some good takes on what people draw from their entertainment. Reading about BB is really enjoyable. Just like Mad Men, Lost and the Sopranos, shows I really didn't watch except here or there but great to read all about people's take-aways from them. Today's version of the Book-Of-The-Month Club meetings.
