| ![]() Wow, Thanks everyone for their input!!! You all have really given me a lot to think about. I was just thinking to myself that I was going to stay with PC and actually hubby and I were talking about that tonight and he said that he thought it would be a good idea since he's been my "go to" guy for help. lol He has zero knowledge of Mac and just about as much with Windows 8 but somehow he thinks that it would be easier to figure out if I should need him to "fix" what I've done. lol In all seriousness, after playing with my iPhone 5 and 4th generation iPad, there are some things that are different than from my droid phones that I miss and some things that I like about the iPhone. I knew that I could download windows onto mac, but having spoken with 2 people who did that, they both said that it ran a bit slow but at least I could be somewhat productive while learning Mac. I haven't been able to get to the Apple store as I really want to try and get there first thing in the morning to try and avoid the mass crowds that always seems to be there. As for PC, I figured that I needed to get all things new for the system. I asked an associate at Staples prior to 8 coming out and he told me what he knew of it and what he thought I would need to invest in for the new system. I've had Dell laptop and if I can help it, would never buy one again. I've also had Gateway laptop, way back in 2001 and would not recommend at all. My laptop that just died was an HP--which I would considered again. Like the layout and feel of system. This desktop is a Dell, my hubby's hand me down from Hurricane Isabel. I thought I was doing okay until I started reading some of your posts about different systems. lol, I've never even heard of some of them. lol

| ![]() Well, I took the plunge and got an HP Desktop computer with Windows 8. I didn't get the touch screen as I really didn't have a good set up for the system. I don't mind though cause I have my iPad for surfing. My computer is really more for graphics and financial kind of work. I cannot believe the speed I have now. It's more than double what I was experiencing. My old computer was so slow that sometimes when I was waiting for a page to load, I could go get a glass of water and come back before it finished loading!!! I won't have too much of a learning curve either since I'm familiar with microsoft. So all around, I think the pc was my best choice. Plus I won't have to spend an extra $1500 to switch my one program over. That definitely was weighing on my mind. I've still got a lot of reading and learning to do with the new system but with the speed I've got now, it won't be too much of a chore. Yay!!! Everyone's input definitely made me think of the pros and cons. I really appreciate everyones input. Thanks a bunch!!

| ![]() The MAC and the software is generally more expensive but it is worth it if you can afford it. MAC's do not get as many viruses, trojans, malware, etc. but do not be fooled that they do not get them. It is rare but it does happen. I would still go with a MAC. |
