As for who is being sued, that is the lawyers doing. They go after as much as possible. Maybe Deen's company is the official holder/half investor in the restaurant. That kind of thing.

Exactly right. If there were discrimination in the workplace, I am certain that more employees would have spoken up long before now after carefully documenting evidence of the discrimination and quickly reported her to the EEOC and DOJ CR Div. to start and one or two would have no doubt called a major TV network or two, started a Facebook page and then maybe they still would have sued her after all of that took place first. But even if the people were desperate for jobs and didn't report her to federal agencies right away, no doubt they would have documented evidence of it and several would have eventually come forward and registered complaints. I don't know what the reporting limits for a federal discrimination complaint is but if there is one and the employee let the time expire or years go by and not file, I would think that really weakens any civil case they might have on the separate bathroom, employee entrance issue even if they do have some type of documentation. This part of the Deen thing seems weak right now.

I read the deposition and I feel she is being very honest but I also feel she is trying to protect her brother and I admire that because I come from a family where we would do anything for each other and I didn't know there where family's who wouldn't do that until I really got to know my fathers side of the family. There is always going to be gossip and jealousy when it comes to famous people.

Well, if she's a good person at heart she'll get away any my culture-made-me-do it mentality that some of her fans are using to try to excuse her, take her lumps, make amends as best she can and do whatever is possible to repair the hurt she's caused many good people. Knowing most people, she'll be forgiven in time. I don't think she's any Mel Gibson at heart or anything. -

The person who filed the lawsuit claims that only white employees were allowed to use the customer bathrooms in the front of the restaurant. I assume the restaurant had black customers, so wouldn't make sense if management's intent was segregation.

I hope Paula's testimony is correct on this subject.

the sad thing if she is not guilty it really doesn't matter... her career is over. I am sure she is not guilty of most of what the rumor mill is saying, but there is some small truth

If my family member did something wrong or committed a crime, I would tell the truth and I would encourage them to take responsibility for their actions.

Same here. Even though I love them dearly and beyond measure, they'd need to own their deeds or I couldn't respect them for a wrong they wouldn't acknowledge or tried to duck.

My Grandma said she would still love and try to protect one of her kids even if they killed someone. I could never say how it would be for my kids because I don't have any but Callie but I can say my mother has always been my consent and I think I would probably do anything I humanly could to protect her whether she was wrong or not.

Reading her deposition I think the food network reacted to quickly and I hope another network will pick her up because I don't see her as a bad person at all I felt she was very honest and that its all the gossip and rumors that are causing the problems. Even if he brother did wrong that is not her fault if she did not know about it.

I understand that kind of love, Taylor, but it's wrong to lie to protect someone. Especially in the example of murder you gave. I know it was an example but people have to own up to their actions. Even if the action is much smaller than that.
