| I have another question. I take it Mathew and Mary were an item at one time before Mathew's relationship/engagement with Ms. Lavinia Swyer. What happened to that relationship between Mathew and Mary? I realize they are cousins but that seems to be okay.

| That was the second series. No word yet on a third series. Hoping for one.

Mary also felt pressured by her father to be with Mathew, since he would inherit the estate, and she could not as a female. I'm sure someone else can explain better.

| No, in the second series Lord Glendening dies and leaves The Paradise to Katherine, who has married someone else. That seson hasn't aired yet in the US (as far as I've been able to find, anyway!)

| Now I understand. I was confused because I have seen the second series online. It will air on TV in the US soon, I think.

| Jeez - reading yesterday's posts today I realized I must have gotten in work mode(did insurance appeals for orthopedic surgeons) and got all OT - sorry about that! Gosh. I must have had too much caffeine from Diet Coke. I'm sorry I got so het up! And I agree that if she wasn't not telling about her rape for love and worry about her loved one who barely escaped the noose once already, Anna would still not tell because of the very reasons the actress and Amanda articulated and would try to protect her reputation and that of the house for the very reasons stated. I'm kind of ashamed to admit it but, you know, some part of me isn't/wasn't all that sure Bates didn't kill his wife. He's so mysterious and inscrutable, I wouldn't put a lot past him. And I'm only partially kidding when I say she needed killin' if ever a character needed it! I saw on Twitter that Donnie Wahlberg had tweeted earlier today that Blue Bloods was going to be very emotional tonight!

| Jeanie, thanks for explaining about Mary and Mathew. What is Blue Bloods? I would love to hear about more great programming like DA. I haven't been so hooked on a show in years. Any recommendations? Thanks! Oh, and I agree with you about Bates. As much as I love the character it seems as though he wanted her to be dead and I don't really remember hearing him deny killing her.

| Wow, just caught up on my D.A. and saw that Bates now KNOWS about what happened to Anna and from the way he is acting, she was right to fear his finding out about what happened to her. He's deathly angry! I just can't believe the writer of D.A. is going to allow him to go to jail again for murder for killing that swine if he ever does find out he's the one! Surely something else will happen to that guy, he'll leave the country or somebody else will do him in before Bates gets his chance at him. Or maybe they will be in a big crowd and the other guy will attack Bates with a knife or something and if Bates then kills him, it will be self-defense. But, oh, Bates sure has murder in his eyes! And I could just shake Lady Mary sometimes!

| Just saw it.....ahhh. Now, there's only 10 months to wait until the next one! Might as well be year to wait. People have babies in less time than than it will take to see our next new episode! Sally, you've got to get to work and get Julian Fellowes and that cast working on new epi's right now so we can have them by fall. Sick Harry on them or anything!

| just watched the last episode of the season, to me it was a double dose of sadness since I did not know it was going to end so soon, so I was caught by surprise. just 8 episodes, that is only two months of watching. I don't like the Anna-Mr Bates line right now, I believe that with some talking to and getting the police involved that a better justice could not have been served and that Mr Bates could have been convinced by The Duke, Anna, and the head of the servants (forgot his name) to let the guy receive his punishment from the law. After all Anna has the Crowly's on her side and Tony, the employer is smitten by Mary. I think that story line diminished Mr. Bates I bet next season is Edith's season and she will become more feisty and outspoken. I could wring Mary's neck when she said, rather tartly, I would rather sleep on the roof than bunk with Edith, such disdain for her sister is so catty, But LOL this is a TV show

| I hope Bates isn't a serial killer along with being a very talented forger! haha. Just kidding but he's just so dang mysterious acting. Why did he go to London, why was he so worried about those ticket stubs in his coat and why won't he tell Anna why he went? He knows she loves him more than her own self and that he's worrying her by keeping mum on the subject. I too agree that maybe something could have been done through the police but the Crawley's didn't keep him from being sentenced to the death chamber the first time, so who can blame Anna for not wanting to chance his life again. It appears she knows him very well but of course the writer is probably just playing it that way to keep us tense and involved. Mary does get tiresome in her coldness that she wears like a mantle.
