| Need opinions, glasses or contacts? Okay, the child is coming out in me, I've had glasses since I was 8. I am now 20 and recently broke mine and am using contacts at the moment. The plan was to use contacts until I found glasses or ordered my frames again, but now I can't decide. So, in your opinion, glasses or contacts? I can either get just new glasses, spending about $60, or I can get contacts for no copay. Or I can order new frames for the lenses I have (just the frame broke) and get contacts, costing about $100 but having variety. So please, please help! Strangers opinions help me :P

| I used to wear contacts, and hated them so much after a while. At first it was nice, but the last day or two for a pair of disposables they always felt really annoying. But by far the worst thing was when one would accidentally slip up into my eyelid. I hated having to go and pull them out if I wanted to take a nap; contacts and REM sleep are a pretty horrible combination. So I couldn't watch anything right before bed, since I didn't want to risk falling asleep with them in and since I couldn't really see well with them out. So much nicer to use glasses and not have to worry about contact lens solution, about falling asleep, about putting my fingers in my eyes after I have been cutting serranos or habaneros to put in my dinner, about putting them in backwards, etc.

| You look great either way. I say go for comfort. I have also worn glasses and/or contacts since I was about 6. I did have laser surgery about 10 years ago and very much appreciate having much better sight. (Not perfect, but at least I can see things without glasses. ) Anyway, I am interested in finding out what you decide.

| I have worn contact lenses for 27 years, I have had to change to multifocal specs as the multi contacts were just not working for me anymore. I would give anything to be able to just wear contacts again, however vanity has gone out the window. Practicality has now taken over. If you are comfortable with contacts go with them, if you can. However always make sure you have a backup spare of specs. |

| You need both. I have worn contacts for over 40 years. But I take them off at night and I use the glasses before I go to sleep and as a back up in case I can't wear the contacts. For example if you get an eye infection you should not wear the contacts. I think you look cute either way. But having both options is the best of all worlds. | Just like you, I've been using glasses since I was 8 years old. When I was 15, I got my first pair of lenses and I loved it! My sight is very very bad, I hated wearing glasses because they were so thick and kids at school keept on annoying me because of that. When I got my lenses it wat the best thing ever, I never wanted to wear glasses again! Now that I am older, I love both. On days of work I wear my lenses but on days that I'm free, resting at home, I wear my glasses It's a matter of what you like and what you feel comfortable in

YT 2000 Club Member | I have both but prefer my contacts! I wear them about 99 percent of the time....I use my glasses only when I am being lazy and just chilling out at home or before bed. I have had to wear glasses/contacts since I was very young and started out with the most uncomfortable "hard contacts" which they don't make any more. That should give you a clue at how old I am....Lol! I hate wearing glasses in the summer because they always get yucky when I am sweaty from the summer heat....and fog up in the winter! I would go with both....contacts w/glasses for a backup!

| You look great in both! I agree with everyone above that if you go with contacts, you still need glasses for backup. I prefer to wear my glasses on a daily basis, but I like contacts for when I dress up. My astigmatism and need for bifocals makes glasses work better for me on the computer. There are contacts made for these things, but they don't work as well for me. Also makes my eyewear ridiculously expensive.

| Also was in glasses from 2nd grade on. Tried hard lenses, gas permeable & soft lenses-multiple types- but never successfully transitioned to contacts. Finally gave up & stuck with glasses, but about 8 years ago had Lasik surgery. It was quite expensive, but I wasn't gonna let a "discount eye surgeon" get anywhere close to my eyes, since I do enjoy being able to see! I am still 20/20, although I now need granny glasses to read confortably. (I was 20/600 bilaterally) I have been very pleased with the results and highly rrecommend it.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Lucky for you, you look gorgeous either way!!! So, my vote is for both...which means I'm of no help. But either way, you can go wrong. Like MarhCarter, I had Lasik...but I still need glasses for watching TV or far away, and def for night vision.

| Woot Woooot!!! Same here!! It is like the Good Lord touched my eyes with those mighty fingers and gave me sight! When I did have to wear them I wore contacts, and I had a pair of glasses as back up. I would usually switch when I got home from work. I really would recommend you looking into Lasik- it is truly amazing! The place I went had CareCredit too, if we paid it off within a year we wouldn't have an interest rate! DH just paid it off about 3 months ago! Which is cool because now we have a CareCredit for 5 grand!

| I say both if you can't decide or want contacts. I can't stand contacts. They are terrible. You are cute either way, but I like the glasses pic best. If you ever do consider LASIK, please research it first. There are dangers that nobody ever mentions including irreversible and severe corneal damage (the flap they make never truly heals and can open years and years later, severe visual acuity deficits over time that can't be corrected, cornea cell death, weakening of the cornea, etc.). One of the pioneers of this surgery will no longer perform it because it is (in his opinion and mine) unethical.
