| ![]() Yes. That poor pale, shocked man who had lost half his blood no doubt. Poor, poor man. You could tell he was just barely conscious and no doubt his mind had shut down all routine functions. It's a shame they couldn't have him in shock position on a stretcher or in two men's arms running him in to an ambulance and not sitting up. His BP was no doubt tanked despite the tourniquets.

| ![]() We've had a fertilizer plant explosion near Waco in Texas, all units requested, felt 200 miles away. I pray for those workers and their families.

| ![]() Now they are saying a middle school nearby is burning and there is damage to nearby homes. Residents in homes being evacuated and nearby communities. Apparently even a nursing home is affected.

| ![]() I sure pray this is wrong but Dallas News.com is reporting a large swath of the small town has been leveled. Another story saying firefighters are trapped and many, many people injured.

| ![]() Firefighters are smelling gas coming from a hardware store nearby. All units still being requested from larger cities. The highway approaching West is clogged with emergency equipment trying to get there. Calling for more hazmat response. The sky looks full of choppers.

| ![]() EPA very concerned about getting people out of the area as it's said the fumes they are breathing are terribly dangerous and wind will be changing early in the morning. But so many of the residents electricity is out that they can't get communications so law enforcement going to try to reach them in the next hour and get them transported out. Looks like 60-80 homes destroyed, a nursing home, an apartment house and the fertilizer plant. WFAA-TV is saying maybe 80 dead. Hospitals in Dallas and Fort Worth are receiving patients so apparently over 100 injured. One woman whose husband is a firefighter there found his hulled out, damaged truck parked at the Fire House in West but no one has seen him. One official said maybe 11 firefighters dead. That town will never ever be the same. We're praying the liquid fertilizer tank won't blow but they think they have the fire under control enough to prevent that if winds don't cause something more as they change. What a tragedy. West has/had one of the greatest little bakeries. We'd always stop there on the way back from Austin or San Antonio just to get goodies. Poor, poor people of West.

| ![]() What's so bad is temps are dropping 20 - 30 degrees this morning as a cold front is moving thru Dallas and on its way to West. It will be drenched in this blustery rain storm, the anhydrous ammonia will turn to white powder from the rain as it leeches it from the air and surroundings and those without electricity that still have homes but no windows will be so cold. At least half the town has been evacuated that I know of but half remain and a good deal of gas and electricity cut for safety so they are out of touch, cellphone service sketchy w/no lights or heat. We're down to 38 degrees tonight and only in the 50's expected today and w/West only about 80 miles from here, they'll be quite wet and cold. There's a lot of wind in the storm passing over us now, very blustery. People in South Dallas and Arlington, Texas felt the earth move from the blast, thought it was an earthquake. As soon as we get some lights and the weather allows choppers back up, we should get an overview of the horrible scene. Fightfighters' wives in West have been on TV during the night crying for their husbands - so heartbreaking. I think some of the dead are children and no doubt many pets and other animals. I saw a whole flock of sheep being directed near that community center amidst all the ambulances, rescue workers, docs/nurses, police. Animals just here and there - a cow, a dog, goat. Heartbreaking.

| ![]() Even ONE fatality is too many, but does anyone have a confirmed number on deaths and wounded. I am seeing you guys saying upwards of 60 to 80 but I just saw on Fox's website not too long ago and they said 5 to 15. That's a big difference. What a crazy week. Prayers to everyone in TX!!!

| ![]() I did read how the place was settled by Czech immigrants long ago and is called the Czech Point of Texas. Just so sad that life has been blind sided for everyone there. Praying really hard that the number is on that low side, too!!

| ![]() Booms and countless shots fired, more booms and heavy police activity in Watertown, Mass., not far from MIT arrest scene. Now they are saying Boston Police, FBI and Homeland Security on the scene and all the crowd has been pushed back blocks. SWAT arriving, National Guard coming in. Everybody wondering if this is connected to Boston and/or MIT shooting. Choppers in the sky. Apparently a bomb or bombs were what went off when people heard the loud booms. They are saying more special operations from different towns being brought into this residential area. All the cable networks on live covering it. The Channel 7 reporter is saying he's never seen police so frantic as tonight. Police are all running in different directions with weapons out. So many police/unmarked cars that there is a traffic jam of official vehicles. Everybody is pushed so far back from the original scene that apparently something still ongoing. Others saying something "black" mentioned in code or code black or something and that usually means bomb. Reporter saying 100 - 150 official vehicles in the area of this small area, which looks urban - as if urban apartments and shops in the area.
