What's so bad is temps are dropping 20 - 30 degrees this morning as a cold front is moving thru Dallas and on its way to West. It will be drenched in this blustery rain storm, the anhydrous ammonia will turn to white powder from the rain as it leeches it from the air and surroundings and those without electricity that still have homes but no windows will be so cold. At least half the town has been evacuated that I know of but half remain and a good deal of gas and electricity cut for safety so they are out of touch, cellphone service sketchy w/no lights or heat. We're down to 38 degrees tonight and only in the 50's expected today and w/West only about 80 miles from here, they'll be quite wet and cold. There's a lot of wind in the storm passing over us now, very blustery. People in South Dallas and Arlington, Texas felt the earth move from the blast, thought it was an earthquake. As soon as we get some lights and the weather allows choppers back up, we should get an overview of the horrible scene. Fightfighters' wives in West have been on TV during the night crying for their husbands - so heartbreaking. I think some of the dead are children and no doubt many pets and other animals. I saw a whole flock of sheep being directed near that community center amidst all the ambulances, rescue workers, docs/nurses, police. Animals just here and there - a cow, a dog, goat. Heartbreaking.
