| Myrtle Manor... So there's a new show on TLC that is premiering right now. It's called Welcome to Myrtle Manor. It's set in Myrtle Beach, SC. That is my hometown that I lived in for most of my life and recently moved away from. So..anyone watching? I can tell you it's a fake show...there was no trailer park called Myrtle Manor. They created it for the show, like a "reality" show. So embarassing. Myrtle Beach is a wonderful place to vacation and many people from up north come to get away. It's pretty shameful to see this stupid show is making fun of MB and giving it a horrible name. I'm pretty mad, lol. Trash tv at it's finest. Watching the intro made me cry though, they showed the Skywheel that they finished building right before I left...the boulevard that I hung out on with my best friends, and the pier that I had my very first kiss under. I'm watching for pure nostalgia and out of homesickness, but UGH!! This is embarassing!

| Awesome! It's a beautiful area. Every weekend I used to go to concerts at the House of Blues right by Barefoot Landing. My dad is a contractor for Deerfield which is a big resort community in Surfside and my mom works in Socastee. I went to Socastee High. If you know that area (Socastee/Forestbrook) I really need to go back for a visit. I haven't been back since I moved.

| It really is beautiful. They play golf a couple of times a week and love it there. There is so much to do when we go on vacation. Last year we went to Murrells Inlet for the first time and enjoyed that

| What is with a channel called The Learning Channel showing junk like this must be???? What can one "learn" from anything as fake as this is described? Why are there so many shows on the History Channel, NGC, TDC, TLC that portray sections of our country being as crude, gross, uneducated, unenlightened, coarse, crass, boorish, earthy and often raunchy as can be? The shows rarely give an evenhanded look at the particular culture of the area in general - just seemingly pick out the seamiest parts and focus in on that. And they are mostly set in the South, Southeast, Appalachia. I hate shows like this one is described to be! Sorry your hometown is being so misrepresented and I highly doubt a show like this will ever show Myrtle Beach in a true light. It seems Hollywood and the entertainment industry loves poking fun and marginalizing whole segments of our society with shows like this.
