| Merry Christmas....not Last night my dd and her friend went shopping after work. She is 26 and should have been more careful but this is what happened. They were in Payless and she apparently set her purse down on one of the seats to try on some boots. She was looking at them and later found out someone had stolen her wallet out of her purse. She called me upset. They had checked her car, called her work and had them check her cubicle and they even checked all the trash cans in and outside the store. I told her to call the cops so she had a record in case of id theft. They said she would have to go to them to file a report. She had credit cards, money and all her id in the wallet. 2 of the credit cards were on our accts, 1 old navy, and a discover she uses for emergency and help with legal fees dealing with her exhusband. I called discover and cancelled but they had put 100 at a local market (suspect beer and cigarettes) and 65 at a video game store at the mall. Luckily no responsibility for fraud on the cards. She had 45 in cash and one of her cards they put another 65 at the same game store. She now has to get all the id and cards changed. They did nto try to use the old navy or her target card we think it is because they thought only a store card. My question is why did the stores not check for id? while they had her id, bet they did not look like her. They did remember later, that a woman had walked up to them in payless asking a crazy question on what they would call the color of some shoes. We think they were distracting her so someone else could get the wallet. What a mess. Merry Christmas!

| Oh no! It's sad, but times are tough, and the harder they get, more people resort to stealing it seems. such a pain to cancel everything and wait for new cards and IDs. Be careful that they don't go to her home... this kind of thing makes me very nervous...

| I carry one of those small aluminum cases so my cards cant be read by those people getting your card numbers from your cards that have those "fast pay" chips in them. I also have my drivers license in there, and I carry a little "coin purse" with a little cash in it.....I carry this little bit of stuff in my pocket....NO PURSE! They are stealing purses out of cars stopped at red lights, grabbing them off women as they walk thru shopping malls, jerking women to the ground or dragging women across parking lots as they grab their purses, stealing them right out of cars as you pump gas in your car, ......it is crazy! Which is why I do about 90% of my shopping on line. The only place I go now is to work and to the grocery store, and now, I am looking at several of those home delivery services (Schwann, Rich Plan, etc). |

| Oh ugh, that sucks! I just switched pocketbooks to one that zippers closed. I make sure whenever I leave anywhere I zip it shut. Its a lot harder for someone to reach in and take if they have to unzipper it. I'm so sorry this happened to your daughter. It could happen to anyone really... but it's really a hassle. It always seems that the person who was violated not only suffers the loss/violation but also has to deal with the mess and financial aspect of the clean up.

| This is why I don't carry purses any more. :/ Too many horror stories... The only 2 things I need are my wallet and my phone, both which fit in my pockets. My "wallet" though is just a slim pleather card case. I rarely carry cash (I know!) and only use my credit cards. Credit cards have a higher help rate to fight fraud than debit card purchases.

YT 2000 Club Member | A lady at our Sprouts store got her purse snatched. The guy ran out the door while people watched it all . He jumped in a get away car and is gone. We must hang on to our purses or put cards and cash in our pockets. So many people do not have the heart of Christmas and the honest way of life. It is awful losing everything in your purse. I always say the Lord sees it all and these people who rip others off will reap what they sow! |

| I'd be so sad if someone snatched my purse... and they'd be pretty ticked off... my purse and wallet are worth more than anything in it! LOL I try to keep nothing valuable in my pocketbook. No jewelry, no cash, very few cards. The receipt for my purse and wallet is not in them either... just in case! I would hate to not have proof that I had those if they were snatched!

| Thanks all. They did have cameras in the store, just not in that area. I think she is missing her wallet as much as she hates the trouble caused. she really liked it. She called the stores and was told she had to have a police report before they would give anyone the video, and they would not give her copies of the receipts. The sheriff's office said they need info from credit card companies to show the fraudalent charges. Just a circle. She did file the report and get her new license today before work.

| I'm so sorry that happened. What a pain and worry about id theft as well. I remember a woman was pushing her cart out to the parking lot and someone grabbed her handbag out of the cart and ran with it. That sort of thing is so sad.

| Sadly that is why when I go shopping my cell phone is my front pocket, ID, credit card, debit card and CWP in one back pocket and 32 Keltec in the other back pocket.
