if you look closely you will see some gold ornaments, those are some of my old corks that I spray painted with gold glitter, and stuck a floral pick that has a thin wire attached to the other end, and then stuck them in the tree laying them on top of branches. LOL we drink a lot of wine so it was a quick and cheap way to get a lot of ornaments. This year I will have to get a picture of Lola in her wine dress underneath that tree.

| thanks guys, we are proud of our home because we have really worked hard for it, and at times I think we have worked and still work way to hard. I often yearn for a condo For Nancy here are a few shots pics of the master bedroom and view, it is one of the best parts of the house. I had the bed put in the center of the room with a free standing pony wall behind it, the bed looks directly out at the lake. I used to keep a chest at the bottom of the bed, but Lola started jumping up on it to get on the bed and when she started jumping off our bed I decided to move under the window. She enjoys laying ther since it gives her a birds eye view of the back yard and lake. I think the picture of her is cute, she was sound asleep in another bed one morning and I layed a suitcase I had just packed on the chest and before I knew it she was up there trying lying as close to it as she could get, LOL she does not like to be left behind

| this is the sitting room portion, the windows are inbetween the tall chest and my makeup table. To me the photos with the christmas decor seems so dull

I hope I am not posting to many pictures, like Lola, Christmas is another one of my passions so I love sharing and seeing other people photos of their decor.

| Gail asked about Christmas traditions, for most of the years I have been married we host a dress up Christmas party and ask our friends to bring a gift for a local charity. In looking at all these holiday photos I came across an old picture that I must have scanned. The picture is probably from around 1995 and it is of two of my yorkies that are now in Rainbow Bridge, Duffy on the left and his half sister Murphy. (it makes me sad and smile at the same time) This was made into an invitation that said you are formally invited....... LOL that was back in the old days when you stamped and mailed an invitation in lieu of using evite. Do you guys host holiday parties?

| Oh I LOVE these pictures!!! I am soooo ready for Christmas! This morning we had a really thick frost and my friend just texted me and said it's trying to snow where she lives, a couple of hours away!! I love winter until Christmas, and then after New Years it can go away. I am such a Christmas freak! I will start watching the Shopping Channel in September/October when they are starting to sell Christmas items, just because it's something Christmasy on tv lol! We have only had two Christmases in our house. The first year we had our tree in our living room. Then we bought new furniture and there was no room! So last year we put it up in our breakfast nook. We don't really use that room but it is right off the kitchen and you can see it there. I miss it in the living room though because we spend our evenings there! In the next few years we will be transforming our breakfast nook by bringing in my mother-in-law's antique piano and some seating. I think the tree will look better then Do you guys do real or fake trees? I loooooooooooooove real trees but I like to have my tree up for too long, and we have really old wood floors with some pretty wide cracks in some places (we don't want to refinish - we love them!) and I think the needles would get stuck in them! My parents have a real tree when we have Christmas at the lake, and my in-laws always have a real tree. So for now, we'll have fake at home! Does anyone have outside pictures of their houses? I am so unsure what to do with our house on the outside! We have "cool white" bulbs around the rooflines of our old 2.5 story character home, and a couple of those spiral trees in the front. For the last two years we put out light-up candy canes and some of the old-school lighted reindeer (in warm white, which contrasted with the cool white on the house!) We sold those this year. I feel like I want it to look traditional and thought of maybe some lighted garland around the front door or something. We can't go totally extravagant because it is normally -40 degrees the day we do our decorating lol!

| Oh, and it has always been my dream to have a Christmas tree farm. My husband and I have talked at great length about it lol! During the holiday season, we'd have weekend sleigh-rides for kids and hot chocolate and apple cider for families who come to pick out their tree. We love our house in town but said if we were to ever move at all, we'd move to an acreage. So who knows, maybe some day! For now, we are staying chained to our desks at our regular jobs lol.

| I love Christmas time too We got our first real tree last year. We also have old unfinished floors and the needles made a mess, but it was worth it to have the scent. The past couple years I have just lit up the columns on our porch and put up a wreath. I'm hoping to do more this year, but I will wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate. I like to enjoy my fall decorations until Thanksgiving.

| Thanksgiving in Canada is this weekend I anxiously await the end of Halloween to start getting my Christmas stuff ready! I normally decorate in mid-November. I have this great pine-smelling candle that I light up by our fake tree lol!

| I didn't know you were celebrating "Thanksgiving" this weekend.... Yeah for our Canadian friends.... and can I say I am thankful for all my Yorkietalk friends!! As far as Christmas decor, I will probably start doing some decorating at the beginning of November. As usual, I will be putting my "Yorkie Trees" up in the family room. Every year the dogs each get a new ornament. I have 2 pencil trees (a 6 foot & a 7 foot) in the formal livingroom. I like the thinner trees in my Victorian looking room. I think I have posted previous pics..... every year I "mix it up" a bit!
