Two nights ago we found a good deal on outdoor LED lights. Some people had moved to a new house and were selling all the lights from their old house so they could start new. They had 7 strings of 70 lights each - 490 lights

I feel a good old fashioned Griswold family Christmas coming on!!! LOL just kidding... we sold the rest of our lawn decorations over the summer, so the decor will be a little simpler this year!

The astronauts in the International Space Station better get their shades on when you plug all those in!!!

We live on the top floor of an apartment complex and have no outlets on our balcony. Is there a way I can still put up lights?

Go on the QVC or Bethlehem Lights webpage and look at all the deals they have on battery operated outside lights and lighted garlands for really less than you would ever expect. Or watch QVC for the decorating sales shows and see them on those. They have different modes - one is "Glisten" mode, looks like fireflies.

Do you have a porch light? You can buy an extender thing for a light bulb... you screw the bulb into this other thing, and then screw that into the light socket. The extender should have two electrical outlets on it

that's what I used when I lived in an apartment, and we actually still use them for the Christmas lights on the roof line.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I had to use one my first year at my wee house, before I had all new electrical run the following summer.

I bought my adapter at my local ACE Hardware store.

I just took some from my dad lol!!!

I think you can find them at any hardware store

THIS!! I just purchased them on QVC. They're battery operated and are indoor/outdoor. I'm so excited!! It's been way too long since I've had lights on my patio. I'm going to put them up in the next couple of days, me thinks

I'm getting some - well, a lot. Putting them everywhere and setting them on "glisten".

I actually have solar powered lights I got from Target last year for my porch.

Do you ever have 3 or 4 cloudy days in December in Florida? Here in TX, small solar ligts will peter out. Do they have battery backup?
