You could have them tatoo an arrow pointing to your birth mark with the words, "Proof I was born!" No one would ever accuse you of being trendy! ![]()

I have angle wings, angle wings with a lock and key that I designed myself, a dove that was taken from my wedding invitations and a rose with my Dh, Dd and Ds's initials. I am looking for my next one and cant wait. If you go to any tatoo artist they will tell you that (2.5-3') is too small for the type of tattoo you want. In order to see the detail it will need to be lager. A smaller tattoo will be too cluttered and eventually fade out like they all do and just look like a cluster of ink. It is in honor of a lost one an should be done right. I love the design you chose but I would suggest going larger and putting it somewhere where others can enjoy viewing it as well. Upper shoulder, center of upper back or on your lower hip would be a nice spot. Cant wait to see pics, do share! ![]()

| ![]() I have two tattoos- "If life is a labor of love i'll slave forever" across my shoulders in an upside down triangle shape, which is a play on some Rise Against lyrics. They hit me while driving to work one day, had heard the song a million times with no thought, then BAM....And I wasn't into tattoos. As some have said, if you get one, you will get more, so be prepared. I had dreamed about my next tattoo about 2 years after the last one....I never thought I would get it, because I knew it HAD to be on my wrists, and I know how that can interfere with work. I wanted "ancora imparo" (still, i am learning) on my wrists, facing out, as an offering to the world. A month before my ex and I broke up (things were rocky even then) I knew it was time to throw caution to the wind and get the tattoo. This was about 6 years after the first one. I had pretty much given up on the wrist tattoo, and had plans to get shibari (japanese rope work) tattooed on my lower leg/ankle/foot, but the artist moved to California and promised she'd do it when she came back to visit. But then, my life started spiraling-my relationship was bad-ish, my job was getting worse and worse, and my 2nd (and then only) rat had to be put to sleep....And I knew, it was time for that tattoo, and that I needed it to be facing at ME, because I needed the reminder. The lettering is brown, twig-like, with green leaves on the words, to simulate growth, one word per wrist. A word on pain-my first tattoo, across my shoulders, wasn't bad, it only hurt when he got nearer to the spine. It was kind of thuddy stabby, and was done in about 45 minutes or so. The tattoo artist (a really cool, intimidating guy with national recognition) gave me props for how well I handed it as a first tattoo. The wrist one? Hurt like a 4%&!! and the pain didn't let up til he finished. I have no idea how long it took (probably not long, really) because I was trying to remember to breathe. It was a very hot, stabby, rough, sickening sort of pain. Very sharp. I have carpal tunnel and I had trouble using my hands for 3 days. I have a very high pain tolerance, but it was brutal |
