| How about "how to tie a tie" honestly the BEST presentation I ever watched in my communications class, cause no one knew how to do it, and I still tie the BF's ties, even though we were a class of 2nd year business students. :P

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | How old is he? If he's young, things like "How to wrap a present" can be useful. If he's older he could do a "How to sew on a button." I would just choose something that he thinks would be neat to know how to do. How to fold a flag, and how to set up a small tent are other things boys are interested in.

| Also check out this site... 50 Table Topic Ideas it's an organization centred around public speaking, while they're not "how to" presentations, they are good presentation topics and one may spiral out of it.

I am laughing on the how to tie a tie. Once a year he has a formal at our church. And getting the tie together is a challenge. I have to watch you tube videos and 30 minutes later we will have the tie tied. Lol. It is not a good situation!! Ha ha

| At that age, I would definitely go with something he likes. Cause youngsters aren't great at presenting and can often get nervous (I'm a university TA) and I see even my students being extremely fearful of presenting. I tell them all to talk about things they're interested in. I remember in 7th grade I did a how to groom a horse, my mom even supplied me with my horse in the parking lot (ok yeah total overachiever here...) but how about taking his favorite sport or hobby and finding something. Also note to mom... I'm sure a few years from now some college or university professor will be thanking you for making your son take the class. He'll probably thank you in a few years too when he needs to present a proposal to his boss or team, etc.

| How about like a food? I know my daughter did a "how to make a ice cream sundae" Maybe you have an easy "no cook" recipe for something, then the students can taste what what was made.

| My dd just finished her college speech class last semester. I can already tell she got a lot out of it even though she says it was pretty easy. If your son likes to fish, he can do a presentation on tying a knot (like tying a lure to the line correctly.....there are hundreds of different knots and I bet he knows a few). He could take a bobber or a weight instead of a lure so it does not pose any danger. Also, if he wanted to do something more with that topic, take pictures of him doing it at home and present the visual via slide show or video. Just a thought.
