I wish we had more of an autumn here. It is so beautiful. And that first flirt of cool air in the morning when you go out early - that's just magic! We felt it over the weekend. Tibbe stood in the yard with his nose up feeling it. We have a lovely little woods we can go walk in not too very far away from here and it is so beautiful in the fall. So nice to know the best parts of the whole year are coming up. 91 days to go.

Woohoo I love Christmas countdown...I been counting for a month now! lol I love love love Christmas! so exciting and so much fun...little Lexi gets as excited as I do ... well she's all about the presents ... lol she even has her own little pink tree and santa brings all of her presents and puts them under it. She is so cute xmas morning running to her tree and she starts opening her presents without us...so funny to watch!

Oh my God, Saturday through Monday were incredible with clear skies, cool temps, and breeze, and all Cookie wanted to do all day was go hang outside. Saturday and Sunday we must have spent 6-8 hours outside each day.

Sounds like such fun! Yorkies usually love being outside with you. We've got another 4 days of warm to hot days but it cools drastically in the evenings and overnight and I think by this weekend, we'll have a good cool-down and some rain. Hopefully then we'll start to really long-term cool for the season. Can't wait for the leaves to start to seriously turn and fall all over the yard and the neighborhood get that fall look and the pumpkins to begin to show up on the lawns and porches and grapevine wreathes on the front doors. 90 days to go.

Yeah, fall is incredible in Texas. October is by far my favorite month of the year out here. Though I know you guys get real winters up in DFW; 3.5 years ago we got 1/10th of an inch of snow, and it was the biggest snowstorm since the mid 80s in San Antonio. I remember hearing you all got some snow down there in southern Texas and was so happy for you! Even a little snow is fun. We have gotten a few real days of winter with ice and good, fairly deep snow over the years but thankfully, then we always get a warm-up to our normal kind of winter where our average daytime temp is usually in the 50's during the winter months and I don't think we ever stay below 40 all day but half a dozen times or so a year. No snow shoveling ever! It just melts away on its own and is never really that deep - just enough to be pretty and enjoy for a while and take lots of pictures. Once we make it through those two or three months of hot summer, the rest of the year is really, really nice with just enough changes in weather to give us a taste of good variety. Once that I remember in my lifetime it got to "0" degrees here one winter night around 1989 or so - it was dang cold! I was so scared we'd get really cold in the house that night but we stayed warm, nothing bad happened and the pipes didn't freeze or anything! Thinking back on it, it was kind of exciting but I'd hate to live too long in weather that cold or have to go out in it! When I hear that some places get down to -60 and more in winter, I cannot even imagine how they get through it.

Just think, now that summer is ending and besides fall and winter up ahead, we get the holidays, too! Best times of the year just ahead.

I will post a picture of her little pink tree as soon as we decorate it for christmas....lol as right now we have it up and it's decorated with turkeys ...lol we want christmas to hurry up so bad I had to put one tree up just because and so I wouldn't look to badly out of place we decorated it for fall with leaves and turkeys...ok, I know I am a little off....:D

It was 50 degrees here this morning and yesterday deliciously windy, rainy and flat cold! Muggy that morning but then the cold front arrived and fall came to Texas! First cool air and I start thinking Christmas. It's sad because as long as the season seems to last these days, it never really lasts long enough for me.

Well, it's 91 degrees here today...ugh! Can't wait to head to the mountains in December oh how I love that weather and we will decorate the chalet cabin for xmas ... even cut down a fresh tree to bring home... be there for 12 days and it will be cold...oh and maybe a snow dusting...oh and the 4 fireplaces and hot chocolate...so hard to come home...lol

Uh oh, maybe you all have more hot weather than we here in North Texas? It's soooo hot here in summer for two month especially but then we finally do get seasons again. Loving this very cool weather!!!

It has been so hot here this year and rainy...just awful! Can't wait for a change of weather a little. I laugh when the weather man says a cold front this week...cold front yep....87 for the day...gueeezzeee! I do think 2 nights next week might be around 68...dang, bring out the firewood...lol

Even temps in the 80's can be miserable if the humidity is high. Do you all have high humidity as we do here in Texas most summers?

I was at the store earlier this morning and I swear these Texans are dressed in coats and sweats. LOL Here I was with capris and flip flops on. LOL

I am having a full on Thanksgiving Dinner on Wednesday.
My dad is visiting from Florida and my hubby fly's in from Kuwait tomorrow for a few weeks.

So, since it has been so long since I have had Thanksgiving with my Dad, we be doing one. Oh my the headaches. LOL

Oh, we do live for cold. Cold is good and this is cold to native Texans I grew up with. We kinda live for cold after our hot summers. Prob. those people bundled up were the transplants as we Texans usually barely get a jacket on by January. I don't even have a winter coat or hat and actually don't know anyone that does. Summers usually get you so tired of hot weather, you enjoy feeling good cold air.

Now when it was down below 10 degrees the year of the Superbowl, ice and snow and the electricity was going out 3 or 4 times that one day, I did wear two sweatshirts and a jacket, gloves outside - still no hat. LOL. That was what we tend to call real cold and I sure was glad we didn't have that to look forward to winter after winter! I think the low 20's is about as cold as this Texan likes it.

54 degrees and sunny this morning in San Antonio. It's still only 77 at 3PM with lots of sun. Cookie was just going nuts when we went on a walk a few hours ago; she wanted to run the whole way around the park practically, so I was running with her while holding the leash. This has been without a doubt the nicest day of the entire year of 2013 in South Texas. Just got back from a nice walk at a Commanche overlook in town.

I wore a coat to work this morning. When I left work at 3pm I figured I wouldn't need it BC it would have warmed up, but it was still a bit chilly! Lol. We are nuts. The people from up north would probably wear shorts in this weather :rolleyes: I'm a flipflops-365-days-a-year kinda gal and as soon as I came home I put on my fuzzy socks and lay under the blanket. Brrrr.

LOL. Oh, I live for this kind of weather to finally show up after a long, hot summer. It's glorious to feel cold w/o AC running.

My a/c just kicked in this afternoon....4:30 pm and 88 degrees here....has been extremely windy the past few days, but right now calm and warm....

Humidity is awful...I really am over this weather it is wearing on me! Woohoo glad Thanksgiving is coming because it will be that much closer to christmas...I am so ready! well let's see it is almost 8:00pm and 81 out...

Yeah, humidity is the main thing that affects comfort for me. Today our dew point was in the 30 degrees to low 40 degrees, which made our 79 degree high temperature feel so incredible. When that dew point is at 65 or 70 degrees, a 79 degree temperature doesn't feel good at all though. It gets really unbearable when the dew point gets near 80 degrees, which it did a couple of times this summer at night in South Texas (though 74-76 degrees was about the standard nighttime dew point, which would make your face feel sticky as hell).

Gotta go hop in front of the AC when the dew point jumps over 75 so that some of the water can be taken out of the air by the lower temperature.
