Alright, what is everyone's favorite wine?

My fave is a Spanish wine called Albarino. Not too, too pricey either.... about $17/bottle around here.

I haven't acquired a taste for wine. I've tried a few but never like them lol. I am so picky with alcohol (who would have guessed, a 21 year old picky with her drinks). I don't like things that taste too... well... alcohol-y... LOL! I love all the fruity girly drinks. My newest is a Tequila Sunrise but I change it into a Vodka sunrise cuz I am not big on tequila! I am not a big drinker but will drink 1 or 2 while out with friends.

I agree, I'd like to know what to look for in a wine for someone like me?

I'm like this and I like some Rieslings. Also love a wine one of the localish wineries have - Crimson and Clover. Otherwise, the Arbor Mist wines are very girly drinks.

Give me a margarita anyday.

I love the sweet "fru-fru" drinks too! Classics like strawberry daiquiri or Planter's Punch are always my top choices. That's probably why I like the semi-sweet or sweet wines. I know the wine is supposed to compliment the food being served....but I seem to stick to the same kinds I know I like and rarely venture in the dry or more acidic varieties. I've hosted quite a few "wine wednesdays" where you invite friends over and everyone brings a bottle and we sample different wines. It's a great way to try lots of kinds without buying a whole bottle of each yourself...and you get to visit with friends .

I love my hard liquor because it's not so "hard" after it's mixed with something. lol

I do love Moscato's. I would like to drink red wine but apparently everytime I try I doesn't agree with me. For some reason my ulcers really act up. I don't like "dry" wines.

I LOVE drinking Pinnacle Orange Whipped right now...I mix it with orange juice and it tastes like orange bang or orange julius.

I live in the BAY AREA, a short drive to Napa, so yes I would say this is a local winery. The reserve wine that we bought would have cost up $75.00

Luckily, my boyfriend is in the food/wine business so we went wine tasting on his job and received industry discounts where ever we want. It is a GREAT perk, but I am DEFINITELY spoiled and get indulged fairly often, bottles of JORDAN being my fave. haha

I didn't love wine when I first started drinking either. The first wine that I liked was "blush" or rose wine. It is light. I moved on to Merlots after that, which can be more fruity than the heavier wines like Cabs and Zins. Maybe try a blush or Merlot?

I would look for a strawberry wine for you, I actually have one very amazing one that I brought back from Italy, low alcohol content, and honestly tastes just like strawberry soda. It has a slight fizz and is really yummy. So look for strawberry's on the label, if you like fruity girly drinks this would be a good place to start. Also check to see what the percentage is of the alcohol, some of the ones over 12% seem to have more of the taste that you need to acquire over time, but pretty much any under 11% go down pretty easy (at least that I've tried).

One of the best parties I EVER threw was a wine tasting party. I bought about 8 bottles (different types and price points) and people brought bottles. We tried each one, rated it, and discussed them. I had cheese, bread, meat and fruit to accompany everything. This civilized agenda lasted about an hour and about 3 glasses and then....

We all got to try a lot of different wines and figure out what we liked.

Maybe you meant Turnbull not "Turnmill" ?

I'd love to tour the Napa Valley area and go wine tasting one time I'm there. As of yet the furthest north I've ventured outside LA has been is Santa Barbara.
