| ![]() In recent years I have stopped handing out candy because only teenagers were coming around and I found that ridiculous- if you can buy your own candy, your too old to be trick or treating. The last time I went out I was probably 13 and I felt really silly doing it- so I figured it was a good time to end the tradition. At 21+ there are plenty of adult halloween parties to attend.

| ![]() Do what you want and feel comfortable with. I stopped going when I was in middle school but I really wasn't into the candy or dressing up thing so I didn't go often. I handed out candy more often as I just wanted to see all the different costumes. I think it does vary by location. My home town adults are known to go and you see many older teens. My friend was 22 before she stopped going, lol. Pretty much as another poster said, if you had a costume and was going door to door you earned the candy. It would be kinda fun though to have trick or treating for our dogs. I love dressing them up and they love getting goodies. I remember my last year that I went I took my cocker spaniel with me. She carried a little pumpkin basket in her mouth and she got lots of treats, lol.

| ![]() Too old. If you're old enough to get into a club why would want to go trick or treating? Last time I went I was 14 and almost every house asked arent we too old? If I wasn't such a b word back then I would have realized.. now looking back yes TOO OLD. Why don't you go to a club or something? You live in LA, plenty of options. | ![]() I would be concerned about opening my door to an older teenager or young adult especially if they wore a mask or I didn't know them personally. Because of the increase in home invasions. We don't have trick or treaters because we live to far off the road.

| ![]() Now I may be the minority but I have alot of adults that go trick or treating in my neighborhood and I dont give it a second thought. I would especially love it if I could see a cute dog all dressed up for Halloween. Especially because I think Im the only one that dresses my dogs for Halloween.I always make sure Ive got plenty of candy for whoever that comes to my door. If you want to go tick or treating then do it.

| ![]() there was something on the radio about how people were not buying candy to handout. Times are very tough and people have to cut corners where they can. In the past we have spent a LOT on candy.. this year I have purchased two bags... that is it .. then lights out. I don't have anything against you all having fun, a party or event like that. I think it is the expecting free treats that I question. I used to LOVE Halloween, I dressed up for Halloween until just a few years ago. I either dressed for school (I am a teacher) or a private party, or to an event that I took my girls to. I always made the most elaborate costumes for them until middle school (then they wanted to make their own ![]() ![]() I really understand having fun, and I guess the age of going door to door is regional. If someone came to may door that I knew was over ..say.. 15 ..I would NOT give them candy!! I would not think too well of them. At 21 you are an adult... going door to door is for CHILDREN .. at least where I live.

| ![]() A lot of kids from the city where I grew up went trick or treating well into their teens. There is a rich gated neighborhood that gave out full size candy bars and some even gave out dollar bills. That's why they kept going. But bc it was a gated neighborhood, it was ok. They knew the kids. If I were giving out candy I would kind of be expecting to see the neighborhood kids, whether it be a ritzy area like Brentwood or anywhere really. Not strangers, and esp no adults if they weren't out with children. Chaperoning kids is totally fine IMO. But I don't get it, how are you tired of clubbing? You're only 21? We don't do the club thing anymore either, but I think we are too old. We are in our early 30s. We also really love Halloween, and we always have really elaborate costumes, but this year we are doing the Zombie walk in Long Beach, and the parade in West Hollywood. Both things are free! ![]()

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | ![]() I don't think you are ever too old! Tee hee! The doggie will be perfect to take with! I don't know if I'd take candy people from people. I'd just go to dress up and to chat with people. Or collect candy to take to kids less fortunate who don't get to go out trick or treating.

![]() ![]() We sometimes get teens that try to trick or treat with their siblings and they have NO costume on. I give them the "junk" candy but if they are dressed up or have a mask then it's worth the good stuff to me. ![]() ![]()
