Do you Yelp? Have you ever left a bad review?

Well they replied to my response. While they did not offer the free pizza in the first message, they did this time. I was very straightforward but not rude, and did acknowledge their being in business 20+ yrs. However, I still don't think I will go and get another. They said they honestly don't know why my pizza came out that way. That tells me they always cook it the same way, and that's just how their pizzas are.

Why not take the free pizza and see if it's better? Give them a chance to change your mind.

I agree with most others, as long as you wrote a well thought out review, who cares if they've been in business 20 years! Maybe some like soggy pizza? You're not in the wrong here. At least they had a better response the second time.

Maybe the way they cook it is not full-proof and sometimes it comes out bad? Not trying to knock off your experience, but I just can't say no to free food. LOL

I would not take free food from someone I had criticized. Who knows what they will do to it. I never complain in restaurants about food or service.

LOL, I know what you mean. But that's not why I won't take the pizza. I feel if I take it I'd be obligated to give them more stars, even if the pizza is exactly the same, just bc they gave me free food. Now their service was fine the first time, but I don't really care about service if I'm getting take out. I just care about the quality of the food and the price. Sure they were nice, but to me that doesn't earn an extra star. Actually they should be nice, right?

Going by the yelp system, one star is Eek! me thinks not!. and two stars is meh, I've experienced better. That pizza was a eek me thinks not!. Meh I've experienced better would be like just your run of the mill regular pizza. This was awful pizza.

If the second pizza is as bad as the first, I don't think you are obligated to give them more stars. You can indicate that the restaurant tried and was nice, but the pizza still stinks.

Or not give a second review at all. If your second encounter was the same as the first, why do you even need a second review?

A follow up to the first to either confirm that the quality is less than great, or to say that the second one turned out better.

Yes, I have left terrible reviews and have the business contact me. It happened for a vet that I took my rescue to. It was TERRIBLE!! I even filed them to BBB and they went as far as saying they will sue me if I continue!! They write on yelp saying that I was a terrible owner, blah blah blah, and trust me, I was NOT the first one to give a 1 star (they have 3 overall stars). lol some 5 stars seem seem to be fake accounts that they probably made themselves

I still don't think it's necessary if nothing changed. Let's say the pizza is as droopy and soggy as she remembers. Adding a second review saying, "yup, nothing changed." to me that starts to say the reviewer has an axe to grind. I saw it the first time, I don't need to see it again from the same person. If things improved, then yes, that warrants a second review. That's why I never write bad reviews! People always take offense to a bad review. If I love a place or product, you'll know. If I didn't like it, you won't know it unless you ask me directly.

Frankly, it's your opinion and you are entitled to it. If the food didn't live up to your expectations than you have every right to say so. You also have the right to go some where else next time.

Once I left a bad review with my specific complaints and I was contacted by the owner of the restaurant. They apologized and said that they had just opened and many of my complaints dealt with kinks they were trying to work out. They asked me to please consider giving them a try again. I did go there again a few months later and they were right- the food was fantastic and the service had improved.

That's good. Unfortunately this place has been "serving the BEST pizza in TOWN" for over 20 yrs.
