| Favorite vet story We all kind of "knock" vets here a lot, but there must be some wonderful "dogtors" out there as well! What's wonderful about your vet? Our vet is nice and knowledgeable, but we had such great care when our big Lab/Dobie mix went to the U of Illinois vet clinic several times! She has been there for 2 knee surgeries and rehab several times! They make her a bed in their offices because she has been there so much and they love her so much. She even got to use and underwater treadmill! Last time I took her, one of the "dogtors" was having a bad day, and the vet tech told her "I have something that's going to make you feel a lot better! Cinder's here!" Cinder went over to her and gave her lots of loving! I know they treat her so beautifully there!

| Great thread! About 12 years ago when we still lived in VT, we had just gotten Jasper and needed to find a vet. When I first met the "dogtor" (I LOVE that!! ), he seemed really gruff and not very nice. But as soon as I pulled Jasper out of his carrier, he turned into a mush ball all sweet and high-pitched voice, cooing, ohing, and ahhing over my pup. I thought I would hurt myself laughing when I related the story to my hubby! We used this vet for all the time we lived there, and were very sorry to leave him when we moved to NC. He was NOT a people person. His love was for animals, and they could not have found any vet who cared for them more. He certainly found the right job!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I love my vets in Sugar Land Tx. They are super kind... When I first got Chanel 3 years ago - BYS (Before Yorkie Sites ...I was calling for every little thing & they ALWAYS took the time to talk to me.....It was sort of a Joke when I called or took Chanel in for minor stuff - but they were fantastic and never made me feel silly - she got to know them REALLY well lol !! We've moved 45 minutes away and I still go there even though I have a good vet 2 minutes from my house We had always had Cocker Spaniels and the people in the Vets office we so excited to meet Chanel when I got her - She actually likes going because she really has no bad memories of her vet visits. When I had to treat Tessa my cocker for an ear infection a few months ago - they accepted partial payments and let me pay the rest off when I could because they knew we're having a hard time lately. So yes...I'd have to say my vet in Sugar Land is my all time favorite vet |

| I love my Vet. I can call her at any time of night, weekday or weekend, and she will open her office for an emergency visit. She follows up with a call the next day to make sure everything is ok. All this, and she charges a regular office visit. It is so obvious that she does this from her heart, she loves her profession and it shows.

| I love my vet...Dr. Pinkerton! He loves what he does and has told me I can call him at home anytime I feel a need to. I think he loves every animal that he treats and feels so bad and is so concerned when there is a health problem. He's the greatest! |

| Compasionate vet This story has to do with my cocker Alex. Ok, so we had to go once a month (for a very long time) to have her anal glands drained and have the pressures checked in her eye(she had a cataract) and Dr. Weibel always used to be so nice to Alex she would always hug her and get kisses from her. She was always caring and very nice. Then we moved to Florida in 2003. I had always kept in touch with my vet office from Indiana because we had developed such a relationship and I really respected their opinions that I would always seek out as a second opinion. In June of 2004 I had to put Alex to sleep. So after Alex had passed I called to let Dr. Weibel know and she started to cry. It was awful. Then I received a card that had a very incredible and compasionate note written by her in it. That really meant alot and helped me in a very difficult time. I still wish to this day that I could find a vet like that here in Florida. Especially when I had to go through that last year.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | She is the original owner of Chanels Magilla the Gorilla toy - Lady would walk around the house carrying Magilla - we'd say "Do your Magilla Noises" and she would SNORT like a pig - I mean LOUD snorting too...hehe - and only when she had Magilla in her mouth - she'd carry him for HOURS....he was as big as her head My dad got the biggest kick out of her and he is NOT a dog lover |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | It's great to hear some happy stories about vets! When Rusty was hit by a car a few years back, the vet we took him to was awsome. They were very nice and understanding. It was late, but they didn't mind. He disloacted his hip and broke his leg in a few places, and they did the best they could to make him comfortable until they could get him all fixed up. And unlike some places, they weren't only concerned about the money, you could tell they really cared about the dogs (and other animals)

LOL He was seriously jealous of Scooter. |
