| Does anyone have an Ipad2 or Galaxy Tab 10.1? Hi there, for my bday I am getting a new tablet. I am not really an "apple drone" fan but if it is the better tablet I will get it. I have narrowed it down between Ipad2 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 Any techies here wanna help me out a little bit? THANKS SO MUCH! What I want to use it for *watching movies/tv *playing games *calendar, word, notepad, journaling *surfing the net, including youtube, yorkietalk, shopping *playing my music I do not like Itunes, but I will suffer through it if need be.

I did not know you can watch TV on the Ipad2. I actually went there today to ask some questions but I got a rude person, got overwhelmed and left. So I decided to ask my much nicer YTers . How do you watch TV on it, is an app you buy or does it already do that when you buy it? Thanks so much!

I have a netflex account also. I have not had one thing i do not like about it. Not sure what you mean by the flash? the battery does last a long time. I usually use it alot all day and it will make it to evening.

| I have the original IPAD, I waited in the stupid long, cold, overnight lines to get my mom an IPAD 2- so I have played around with it as well. IPAD's are amazing. They, like all apple products, are so easy to use. I am almost never without my ipad. Lets put it this way, you get about 10 hours of use on one charge and I need to charge it every 2 days. I read on it, watch movies on it, listen to music, store my photos, go on the internet, and much more. It has made traveling so much easier, I just throw that in my purse and need nothing else to entertain myself.

Some people say they can't just go directly on say, cnn.com and watch video on their direct site because Ipads don't support Flash. You would only be able to go through the app with quicktime enabled content which may not be the same amount of content on their direct site. So i want to ask someone who uses theirs, if it hinders you from getting the information or things you want to see online. Sounds like for you two it doesn't! Thanks so much for your insight. Are you able to download the tv shows? Like to watch offline? I have netflix too, can you just log in and start watching? Do you have to be online to do that? Sorry for all the questions I am not electronics person haha, I'm being forced into this teehee

| I got the iPad when it first came out and everyone in the family loved it so much, we decided to get my daughter one for college. We heard about the 2 coming out, so decided to wait and I would get the ipad2 and she could have my original. My husband got to playing around with it and liked it so much he decided he wanted one also. We stood in line for the iPad2 and got 2 of them. (one for me and one for hubby) and then my daughter decided to get one as well because she liked the double camera and face time. She bought her ipad2 on Friday and my son got the original one. All told, we have 3 ipad2, an iPad, 3 laptops and a desktop and the iPads get the most usage- if I could get my quickbooks pro on iPad, I would never touch my laptop again except for synching. Not having flash is a bother but for the most part don't even realize it.

| Love my iPad 2. I use it all time when on the couch just to read and browse. I also have the galaxy tab. I liked it for the first week or so but it's way more complicated to use and the apps aren't as good. Compared to the iPad, it feels more like a multi-tasking productivity device (with widgets) while the iPad feels more like an enjoyment device that you can also get stuff done on. I think it's because the iPad is so easy and intuitive to use while the galaxy still has some complexity. Also the iPad's scrolling is much smoother so it enhances the enjoyment. |

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | I just bought the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 and it is great!! I hear (and read reviews) that this was actually better than the ipad2 so I went with this one. It has flash for streaming video and I don't think the ipad2 does. Anyway, I just got it Friday, and I am already totally addicted to it!

Thor's Human Donating Member | I can't speak to the Galaxy device, but I loveLoveLOVE my iPad2. I agree with others that not having flash is a minor annoyance. I ONLY read on my iPad now - books? What are they? And I was 100% against the idea of reading on a screen last year because I get headaches easily. However, the screen has great lighting, and it's fabulous to be able to download a book in < 1 minute. It's great for taking notes, email, I have magazine subscriptions on it (SO much better than paper). I also find that it's the only thing I need with me on a plane. It has my flight details, my boarding pass, PayPal, and games, videos and books for when I'm in flight. I also play Pandora while I read. It's very soothing. I don't like iTunes very much either, but it's very easy to hack and move all your own music onto the iPod or an online music store if you prefer. I got the max amount of memory and data, but I think I'm using far less than that. Mental note, downgrade data plan....

We are getting less sleep these days and our eyes don't focus on their own anymore, but otherwise, its sooo cool! haha
