Are you saying the draining can be painful? It hurt a little bit because he suctioned it out very thoroughly! I don't know how little children can cope with something like this. The ENT told me today that they normally will not even put tubes in children's ears until they give it a big chance to heal. I guess they have their reasons. Now I know which sense I would give up if given the choice...............and the answer is "common" sense. Leave the other ones alone!!! ![]()

YT Addict | ![]() I always had ear infections growing up and into adulthood. Haven't had one recently but I did have ear clogged one time and a friend of mine told me to use a netti pot. I tried it and in about 2 days it started clearing. I don't know if it was a coinsidence or if it was the reason it cleared. |

I'm water-logged from using the netti pot so much. You know, I'm not really sure if it makes my ears seem more clogged afterwards, but I almost think it does. The doctors keep telling me to use it. I think my main saving grace has been the Sudafed 12 hour and the Flonase. You were lucky when using it!

| ![]() oh.. you poor thing!! I sure hope it heals fast now that you are getting treatment. I had bad ear infections as a child. I had my ear drum lanced like you had. One time when I was in my early teens I had a really bad ear infection and my mom put a hot towel on my ear/head. I guess the heat drew the infection and my ear popped!! It was so loud, like a gun went off- or at least that is what it sounded like to me. My poor mom freaked becaused she thought she had ruptured my ear drum. I was ok... the infection drained and I was good to go...
