I'm sorry about your hearing loss. Yeah, treatment for most illnesses have come a long way since I was a child, too.

Are you saying the draining can be painful? It hurt a little bit because he suctioned it out very thoroughly! I don't know how little children can cope with something like this. The ENT told me today that they normally will not even put tubes in children's ears until they give it a big chance to heal. I guess they have their reasons.

Now I know which sense I would give up if given the choice...............and the answer is "common" sense. Leave the other ones alone!!!
