| ![]() So last night my cousin & her dd stayed the night with us. My dd & them slept in the living room, I was in my room. In my sleep for a minute or two I could hear Princess barking. Then she started barking ferociously, like she does if maintenance comes in here or something. That jolted me out of bed as I then thought someone was in the house. But Princess was still barking near the door. I looked out the peep hole & basically on reflex checked that the deadbolt was secure. It was half way unlocked! ![]() ![]() My cousin was in the house last & didn't lock the door but my dd did as we were getting ready to go to sleep. And she's 14 & knows how to lock the door fully, I've engrained it in her head to lock it every time she comes in it as soon as she was tall enough to reach it. Anyways, it scared the heck out of me! Oh, and it was almost 4a.m. when all of this happened. 3/6 apts are empty here & there's virtually no traffic through this door by us.

| ![]() I definitely believe! It isn't always a bad thing though. I have had a few experiences and they have been positive. On Wednesday night, I was in the bed with Lazarus (my little fur monster) and he was laying on my leg dozing. All of a sudden he jumped up and ran to the end of the bed growling. I'd ever heard him growl before! He started growling at the air. There was nothing there. I looked for a spider or something but there wasn't anything. He started barking and I picked him up and he was stiff as a board and shaking. I couldn't calm him. I walked him out of the room and around the house until he felt better then back in the bed and he went off again. I moved in the house in September, 2010 and sometimes I feel like someone is in the room when I turn off the light. I frequently get up and turn the light on again but I do not feel uneasy at all, more so curious. My house was newly constructed so I don't think it is someone from before, I think it is my husband who passed away. I got a pic off the nightstand and showed it to him and said, "It's ok Lazzy. It's Daddy! And I kissed the pic and said, "See?? Daddy's sweet, Lazzy. Give him kisses." He didn't give any kisses but he sniffed the pic and calmed down. Last night he kept going to the end of the bed and staring but no growling and no barking. Who knows? I like the idea of our loved ones watching over us. I don't think I would be fond of a stranger though. |

| ![]() I know the place where I experienced some ultra paranormal activity was not very old and had no history as far as death or violence is concerned. I have read that the area it's self can retain "spirits" from things that may have happened even hundreds of years ago. I have also read that sometimes a person in the home or area may actually attract this type of activity. I don't believe in ghosts but I do believe there is a realm that is parallel to ours and sometimes these realms cross over or open into each other. I believe in God and I believe the bible. They bible clearly states that there is a spirit realm and that there are good and bad in that realm. Personally, I would just as soon wait until the hear after to experience the other side. |

| ![]() I used to live in a rental house where the door to upstairs bedrooms would slam shut, a rocking chair would rock with no one near it, I smelled aromas that there was no explanation for, someone was whistling in the room I was in and no one else was home but me. Also things would fall off the walls and a large light fixture crashed down from the ceiling in the kitchen. I would ask myself "did that really just happen?....then tell myself no it couldn't have." Others in the house had the same experiences but they only happened when we were each home alone. No one mentioned it to anyone else for a long time in fear that the others would think we were a bit crazy. One night the subject came up and we found out everyone was having the same and some different experiences. We never spoke of it again after that night. I was afraid but I tried to never 'let on' to the 'presence' that I was afraid of it. I just ignored it and tried to deny in my mind that it happened. I never felt like it meant me any harm, but just wanted to be around people for company. Luckily it was a rental home and we all eventually moved and went our separate ways. To this day none of us has ever mentioned the 'house' again.

| ![]() Well....this has been an interesting thread. I'm glad I'm not home alone right now after reading all of this. I believe in God and the Bible. I do believe there is a spirit realm and that some of these stories could be true. I was told some pretty fantastic things about my grandmother's house in Vermont. When I stayed there, I have to admit I slept with the light on. Thankfully, I never saw anything unusual. But I admit they "scared the crap out of me" with their stories.

| ![]() Nothing has ever happened to me (that I've ever thought about...) but I believe in spirits. I hate scary movies but I love reading y'all's stories. ![]()

No Longer a Member | ![]() The one time that I may have had a "house guest" was while I was living in an apt in Tucson. My first night there as I walked around a corner I thought I saw something out of the corner of my eye. When I looked over, sure enough there was a man sitting on my boxes waving at me, and just like that he disappeared. I dang near jumped out of my skin, broke a closet door when I literally jumped backwards. I never saw him again, but for some reason, no matter how many times I locked the door to my porch it would be unlocked the next time I used it. |

| ![]() I ran into one of the leasing agents yesterday at the gas station. I took the oppurtunity to ask him if he's ever heard of anything happening at the apts. He said one other person, that he knows of, has told them his doors & cupboards will open & close. He also said that the owner of the mansion (which the apts. are built around & now serves as the office, gym, etc.) killed himself in the garage there after his wife died (or possibly left him, I can't remember). My Dad said the owners lived in the mansion during the Depression. Weird, huh? And that makes a building directly on two sides of me having problems. Gives me something more to look into-during daylight hours. ![]()
