I agree. I don't know how they didn't insist on knowing who the father was? That whole scenerio seemed odd that she didn't want to say who the father was and then lied and said it was someone who died in a car crash. I understand most parents love their children (I say most bc I've seen some awful things in hospital ER's that would really surprise you what some parents are capable of towards their own children), but when your child kills your grandchild and leaves it in the woods to be scavenged by animals I think you need to love the grandchild who was killed as much as you love and are willing to protect this nutty child. Someone in the family needs to love Caylee enough to want the truth for her.

Aren't they showing unconditional love, and isn't that what a parent is supposed to do? Love the child no matter what? Honestly, I don't think I could do that, but I really admire someone who can.

I guess I think someone needs to show unconditional love for little Caylee and want the truth to told about what happened to her. I'm also not sure if unconditional love means not holding someone accountable for their actions, especially murdering their own child. I think you can love her in spite of her terrible actions, but to say I don't acknowledge or choose not to see what horrific act she just committed I'm not sure is love.

I agree, I think you can still hold someone accountable for their actions, as that is part of loving someone, in my opinion. I just don't know if I could love someone, if I didn't like them. I actually believe they think the daughter did it, the interview they had with her in jail made me think that's when they finally stopped believing her. They were in denial for a long time, but I believe that you should believe your child, if at all possible. Casey is one of the most prolific liars I've ever seen, she goes into such detail, and I think she's very good at deceiving people, even her own parents.

You know what would be the only piece of evidence I would need to convict this...woman is just listening to the part in the 911 call when Casey's mother said the police wanted to talk to her (with respect to answering questions about Caylee's whereabouts) and Casey said (I'm paraphrasing) "I have nothing to talk to them (the police) about." That says it all.

I agree, there were several moments like that for me, when I just felt so strongly that she did this, and it goes against everything I wanted to believe.

By the way, I've heard that a girl in jail at the same time as Casey had been telling people about her son who drowned and the grandfather found him in the pool, there is speculation that Casey overheard this story, and that's when she came up with her story.

I'm really ignorant about law...can the prosecution use this person as a witness even though the prosecution already presented it's case?

Yes, they were saying on the news this morning that the drowning story was possibly "borrowed" from another inmate. As far as the heart sticker on the duct tape goes - I think they said there was an "impression" of the heart sticker (which matched other heart stickers found in the home) left on the duct tape as a "mother's last goodbye".

Yes. After the defense rests, prosecution has the right of rebuttal and may present witnesses at that time.

I haven't seen the live coverage of that, when was that presented? That just makes me so sick. It still goes back to the dairy entry on June 21th where she wrote:

Nancy, I'm not sure what day that was presented ... I just caught bits and pieces of the live trial, but they have been doing a recap of key points on the local news - and that is where I heard about the heart sticker and the duct tape. That diary entry is amazing - sure says a lot, doesn't it? Yes, roseylovestosho, very poetic :rolleyes:

I wonder if she will testify. I don't see how she can avoid it. I don't see how the jury could possibly buy the story that this child drowned, but then not have her testimony to tell this fabricated story.
To raise this and the alleged sexual abuse, and this explanation without anything to back it up. I don't see it!

I'm hoping she will, I don't know the law that well, but I don't think she has to prove that she didn't do it, or even that it happened another way. I think she will testify. They say when they show or give certain testimony or pictures of Caylee and the jury is out of the room she doesnt cry but when they bring the jury back in and show it she crys that tells me all I need to know about her. Im just afraid she is going to get acquitted because the defense does seem to be getting alot of testimony conflicting with the prosecution on the forensics

I don't think she has to testify, but if I was serving on the jury I would have a hard time buying a theory of drowning and abuse that an attorney throws out, then no testimony or evidence to support it.
It seems to me once you bring up what happened, you need to back it up it to be believable.
I heard that she was googling about a shots party or something the day she claims that her daughter drowned. I've not been able to watch first hand. Did that get entered into court?
I mean seriously, how does someone google about a party, go to a party on the day your child drowned?? :eek:

I also read her diary entry that she wrote days after Caylee was gone about being happy. Bizarre.

There was a Casey Anthony special on here in Atlanta on ABC Primetime/Nightline that covered the case and what they believe. They are thinking that they may have her testify. GMA is also covering the trial with Nancy Grace. She thinks the defense doesn't have a chance. Also she doesn't believe the father had anything to do with it and that they will call both parents to the stand.

I think you're right - I think she's one of those ppl who is so confident in her lying that she thinks she can talk her way in and out of anything. You would think getting caught stealing her grandmother's and friend's money plus how her lies about working, etc., were found out she would have had an "ah ha" moment by now!

I've seen that too watching some of the live coverage. When the jury is out of the room, she will look at the monitor when they show pics of deceased Caylee, but when the jury is back in the room, she will look away and not look at pics, fake cry - it really makes you wish the jury could see everything to help them come to their decision!

I heard on CNN last night that her parents have told their attorney that they do not think she's innocent; this is the first that they have admitted this. However, they say that they still love her and they do not want her to get the death penalty. Her mother is supposed to be questioned by defense today.

Can anyone believe what just happened? Last pm, George and Cindy's atty claimed they believe she is not innocent but do not want death penalty - which atty/client priviledge had to be waived for him to comment like that.

Then today, Cindy gets on stand and claims her work's records of her time worked/time paid for are not correct and that she "may have been home" and was the one at home searching for chloroform!! Amazing!! Gee, I wonder if what atty said last night was a preemptive statement anticipating her contradictory testamony today??? Unbelievable!!:eek:

Actually I was thinking it makes sense, they don't believe she's innocent, but they don't want to see her put to death.

By the way, grandma testifies that she’s the one who looked up chloroform. She said she has two Yorkies and the smaller one was not very energetic, so she looked up chlorophyll, and then that led to looking up chloroform.

I guess no one is going to wonder any more where Casey learned to lie. I have lost any bit of empathy I had for any of them....that whole family needs to be locked up until someone tells the truth about what happened to that little girl.

I don't think I would after she killed my granddaughter - but I have no children other than furbabies. I guess we all look at things through the goggles of our own personal exp. I've also seen horrible things done to children by their parents (including things that have caused death). My personal exp makes me want to be the advocate for the injured/dead child. Maybe if I had children I would feel differently.

Nancy - if you'd consider adopting a middle-aged woman, I'd love to have you for a mother! I think you are one good unconditional lover!
