I couldn't believe the opening statements by her lawyer...I just think it's odd.

I'm especially suspicious bc if Caylee had already passed in the pool, why the chloroform? Why the duct tape? Why the sticker over her mouth? Why the smell in the car? (sorry, a decaying human or animal does not smell like decaying pizza!)

So, so sad. How could anyone hurt a sweet little girl like that! I just do not understand; she was a precious child.

This so-called mother ~ needs a LOT of jailtime to reflect; OR I could probably agree with the death penalty if she is found guilty. I believe she wanted her GONE so she could continue with her party lifestyle.

There are too many holes in the defense's case. Jose didn't lay out a clear path for us/the jury to follow. All he did was tie some strings to different points in order to make it look like they were connected.

You are so right. I really wondered if her mother knew more than she said but then why would she report the smell if she knew her daughter had killed Caylee?

Any mother or father that would murder his or her own child should be put to death. They are not fit to live in this world.

I keep watching the trial on HLN - lots of cutins w comments and local programming. Is anyone watching it on a different network that runs more continuously?

She's guilty. She's a liar. She needs to accept responsibility and stop trying to blame everyone but the Pope (although somehow she probably blames him too) for her despicable actions.

It is extremely offensive to me the defense is trying to blame her actions on childhood sexual abuse. That's hogwash! Millions of sexually abused people go throughout their lives and would never commit murder. Sexual abuse doesn't absolve you of guilt nor should it be a mitigating factor in this case (if it ever happened and I have my doubts about that).

Also, I think it's a crying shame so much has been spent on her defense. She should be getting the very same treatment any other thug accused of murder gets. And I'll bet my bottom dollar, the average thug doesn't get a million+ dollar attorney.

And that defense, talk about grasping at straws

I hope they find her guilty and sentence her to life. I'd gladly accept a death penalty sentence, but I think that's not as horrible as living out her days locked up! Though it doesn't appear that she has a conscience to bother her at all

I will be keeping an eye on the trial. She is guilty and I hope she at least gets life in jail. It is so sad for little Caylee but at least now she is in heaven and cant be hurt again.
