| I agree with ya twinkie... but we need to get data off it 1st.... then we start from scratch... and if at that point... it can become an artificial reef somewhere.

| Well getting her computer to run a little better atm. Problem is she only has 512mb of ram, but shared video card is taking away 128mb of it. This only leaves her system to use 384 for windows. Minimum specs for windows xp is 512, the recommended memory to have is 1gb+, I showed her how much it would cost to upgrade to these recommended specs. Doing a deep defragmentation, and Optimization on her computer now. The hard drive is healthly! |

| a big, huge thank you to jmulls & roboyorkie!!! as you can see, i am writing this, and possibly posting it all within the same hour time frame! as both gents suspected my storage space is aplenty, but i was very short on RAM to run simple tasks like getting online, or opening a folder . roboyorkie remotely accessed my pc & closed & removed a ton of useless....s..tuff.thanks to everyone on YT who offered their advice & expertise! clearly without you i would've been served a littering violation! ![]() ![]() ![]()

| I think norton 2011 mandates a min of 512 as well, especially if it is being used for constant monitoring/backups... anyway... good to hear. I will keep an eye out on www.slickdeals.net for RAM prices... That e-machine actually has a video card ...now the bigger challenge for you is staying off the sites that clobbered you with all that SHTUFF...

| Its a intergrated video card, so built onto the motherboard, she can get a extra gig of memory on crucial.com for $50 which will last her a good bit. Rebooted the computer and it was back up under a few mins min.(I'm sure it took way longer with all the crud on her computer) |

| so i am fully up & running, have tripled or quadrupled my speed by adding Ram as well as turning off unnecessary stuff. I am soooo grateful to those on YT who helped me out. wow! there really are some sweet people out there!![]() I decided to stick with Google Chrome for a while...Mozilla has a glitch in their latest version where you can't just type in the bar & push enter & it really annoys me so if anything, I'll install the older edition. Hope everyone's having a good weekend!
