What Internet Browser Do You Use?
 
I'm having a terrible time with my windows pc & can't seem to find the problem. This thing has been an endless problem literally since day one, and if I can't fix it or get it fixed with no out of pocket expense it's getting recycled.

I normally use Mozilla Firefox, my pc is running soooo slow (no virus, malware, etc. can be detected), so I decided to try to open Internet Explorer. It is a little bit faster, but I really don't like it for several reasons. My friend uses Google Chrome. I'm sure there are some other ones out there as well. I just wondered which one you like, I am probably going to do a destructive system restore tomorrow & want to start out with the best everything hopefully, when I get it back up & running.

Just recently switched to Google Chrome and I love it!!

I use the latest version of safari. I sometimes use Google Chrome also now that its available for mac.

I always use Mozilla. But, it's interesting you said this...bc now I realized how "draggy" my browser has been for about a week...it longer hesitation after any click I make, like it can't keep up. Is that similar to what's happening with you too?

I use IE. Since you don't have a virus, could you be out of memory on your computer, or could it be your processor that is slowing down your computer? When it gets technical like that I really don't know what I am talking about, but here at work when we got new computers with bigger processors and more memory, I was amazed at how much faster things are using the same IE.

hmmm...strange...I use firefox. Firefox is much faster on both my desk puter & laptop than IE is.

Before you ditch it why don't you contact RoboYorkie. He's great and can take a look remotely to clean things up.....cheap too! I just purchased a new iPhone and was having problems with my iTunes account and he was able to fix it after I messed around for 3 days with Verizon, in store tech help, Apple and torn the hair from my head.

it is like that too, but also on YT for example it will take 30-60 seconds soemtimes to pull up the reply window once i click for it or when i go to new posts, etc, the ads will never load (not that i personally care:p) but my address bar will still be saying connecting forever and ever. when i was trying to access my isp account i left the page loading overnight and never got it!:thumbdown

i will have to see, as i'm not sure. i do have a ton of pics and music files on here but that's the bulk of my memory, basically all i use this for except the internet. someone has PMed me offering advice so i just wrote them a novel trying to explain it;) hopefully he can shed some light! i'm desperate here, lol.

I hope you get it figured out. Not being able to keep up with YT is hazardous to the health..:D

I use Firefox- I have had so many problems running IE on my computer I don't even try anymore- never a problem with Firefox.

Especially when i have a banning title to uphold!:D

this internet explorer doesn't even have spellcheck, including the one on YT unless i download it, what the heck?!??:rolleyes:

Have you done a Disc Check? That speeded mine way up to get those problems fixed - that and cleaning out cookies, etc. frequently! I use IE 8 something. My laptop used to be slow - fast now.

Definitely agree that this is the way to go. I use FF and have slow issues from time to time. You need to use a program like CCleaner to clean up your system. Also, FF plugins and extensions can add an extreme amount of slowness to the browser.

Also check your memory. Go to Local Disk (C: ) properties, General tab and you'll see how much memory your computer has left.
