We are going to try and get out to Quantico one day to visit the new Marine Corps Museum in Triangle, hit the O Club at Quantico, visit the Marine Shop in Q Town, and take a nice ride from the Battle of Bull Run all the way down to Petersburg with stops along the way at the major battle sites. Spent time doing that when I was stationed there for the Basic School. The noise you heard was no doubt from the new Lt's out in the field for a Fire Exercise. The time in Quantico at TBS (The Basic School) were the best 6 months I spent in the Corps as I made lifetime friends that I am still in contact with and still see. Also, no one was firing live ammo at me, and that was a nice break.

Hi,

I'm Linda. I'm a single working Mom with a 15 year old son. Said son is a swimmer and any free time I have is spent ferrying him to and from practices and meets.

We have little Lucy (age 2) and Ringo (age 5). Together, they are determined to take over the house.

I work full time for an insurance company - negotiating the value of injury claims. Fun, Huh? I used to work at home (miss it!) and now report to an office.

We just moved to another state and brought my almost 90 y/o father with us. Adjusting has been tough and I'm not sure if we will stay here or try and return home. More opportunities for my son here; but he sure has friends at home that he misses.

My son and I love to watch Greys, Modern Family, the Middle, and any scary movie you can think of.

We have tons and tons of walking and biking trails here and you can usually find Lucy, Ringo, and I on one of them on any nice evenings and on the week-ends. I hope to get a basket for my bike for Lucy and give that a try.

Last but not least, my son just got his PERMIT!!! And I am teaching him to drive. There will be medication involved.

You will enjoy that trip for sure. The museum is gorgeous and so moving, truly worthy of the USMC. Here are a couple of pics from when I took my nephew to visit:

Alright, here's my about me:

My name is Michelle and I am 24 years old. I have been married to the love of my life for almost 3 years now and we purchased our first home just over a year ago. He is Canadian and I am American. We both hope to have dual citizenship eventually. I recently graduated (December) with my degree in Elementary Education from Washington State University (GO COUGS!!) and am currently a substitute teacher until I can find a permanent teaching position.

We do not have any skin children, but have two long haired kitties (Tiger and Beau) and two yorkies (Couver and Khloe). We live in a 1912 bungalow and spend every spare minute restoring it to its former glory.

I am a clean freak, obsessed with my yorkies, and am a girly girl. I love shopping, finding amazing deals on Craigslist (specifically furniture), my iPhone, going dancing, taking pictures, gardening, decorating, talking politics, and cuddling with my babies.

1. DH and me in front of our house with the pups and my mil's sheltie and border collie.
2. Tiger (orange) and Beau cuddling. I love them.
3. Our house before the flowers bloomed.
4. Our house from the side

I don't think I would ever get plastic surgery, I'm too chicken!
Ohhh another old house!! Love love LOVE IT. You are so cute, I love your jacket!! Your kitty Beau looks like my old kitty I use to have! Chettah, I miss her so much, she was an awesome cat! I swear they could be twins, they look a lot alike!

K my name is Karen and... I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. I do have a picture perfect family with a brother 5 years older than me (I'm 38) and parents who have been married 45 years. I had 2 dreams growing up. One was to live in New York City and the other was to start my own business.

I moved to NYC shortly after graduating college with a BA in Communication Arts (broadcasting). That was short lived due to a horrific battle with heroin addiction. My parents "rescued" me about 1 week short of homelessness. I was brought to Florida where I kicked my drug addiction's A$$ and never looked back. While I still regret destroying my first dream, my second very recently came true. I'm thrilled to be owning my own successful business. But go figure. I'm a shoe salesperson.

I'm currently residing in a very rural area about 20 miles north of New Orleans with Victoria, my partner of 3 years. I couldn't be more out of place in Louisiana and am hoping to move my little family back to S. Florida shortly to spend more time with my parents.
I have 2 dogs, Cooper & Max & no longer desire children!
I don't have a favorite color because I just can't decide.
I've recently discovered mushrooms.
I might have some tattoos and piercings. Maybe.
I am extremely open-minded.
I miss good music.
I have a 14 year old Kissing Gourami

I forgot! There's been some advancement on fat replacement etc...maybe they can take some off some areas I don't nee the endowment and use that where I do...oh one could hope right?

Wow, yes you are really out of it. No 10 minutes is not code. It's a time frame. I'm just saying that when you are battling drug addiction, 1 minute, 10 minutes or 1 year is long.

Oh ok, LoL. I am very proud of her, it would have been year 2, but she had a relapse. I know it is a hard battle for her so I try to support her and not stress if she is going to mess up again, bc of the past, I know that is not right and that is not going to help her. My brother is really bad with her, he doesnt trust her 100% and he bugs her about little things, he is my older brother too! But he is getting better with her. Do you still have a sponser?

I love the Serenity Prayer.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

I never had a sponsor and I never went to meetings. I lived in a residential treatment center for 3 months and lived in a transitional home for 2 years. I felt that I just never fit in with the people who went to meetings. I don't believe that either you or your brother will prevent or provoke the addiction.

That is so awesome for you!! I would like to give you a You are a very strong person! I went to a couple meeting with her, I felt so out of place, but the people there were so nice, and they really support each other. I know the meetings help my Mom a lot along with her sponser. I know we are not the cause of it, I guess I just have those thoughts in the back of my head.
