I would some day like to find my birth mother but at the same time it scares the heck out of me with all of the "what ifs".

My dad passed away very young when I was only 17 and I miss him every day. We were very close and it makes me very sad to know that he did not get a chance to see me grow up or be a grandfather to my kids. My mom is 80 yrs old and I've never had a very close relationship with her.

I met my husband when I was 19 and he was 23. We have been married for 25 yrs. He is my best friend and love of my life.
We have 3 children~2 grown sons 24 and 22 plus our daughter Megan 15. Megan was our little miracle baby. Many years earlier I had an etopic pregnancy that ruptures and I almost died. The doctor told me afterward that I would most likely never be able to conceive again. So when I found out that I was pregnant it was just a little bit of a shock. But I finally had my little girl

We have 3 little rescues Pebbles, Bogey and Doodlebug. I'm a member and supporter of YHR.

When my boys were young, I was assistant manager for a larger craft/fabric store but I decided to be a SAHM after Megan. But that didn't last long and I jumped head on into boy/girl scout leader, cheerleading coach, Homeowner Association President, religious ed teacher, PTA board member, HS booster club volunteer and attended more kids sporting events than I can even remember. I am also a certified special education advocate and volunteered to assist writing IEPs. You name it I was volunteering and helping. My kids mean the world to me and I love being their mom. When my sons were in school there was always a houseful of kids here and I enjoyed every minute. They all call me mom even today.

In 1996, I began working with our county government to bring municipal sewer and water to our area. After 3 years of meetings with the state, county and local government we were granted $2.3 million to assist with the project. It was an amazing experience that put me in front of some powerful people in the state. I've since been asked to sit on several planning committees, the most recent being a $12 million road expansion project that is in its final phase of completion. Go figure~I'm known for my calm level headed approach with the community and my ability to bring people together.

At 37, I decided that I wanted go back to school and finish my associates and an now a CST (working in the OR). After graduating I worked on an Organ Procurement team doing bone and tissue harvesting for transplant surgery. So basically, I could removed every bone from your body and name them as I did it.

Currently, I am a Clinical Specialist for a very small company that assists surgeons with breast cancer staging. The best part of my job is supporting the patients on the day of their surgery. I love my job and I know B@@Bies~mammos, lymph nodes, cancer staging, mastectomies, reconstruction, lumpectomies, B@@Bies are my life!

In May '09 I was diagnoses with very rare form of Ovarian Cancer. I had a total hysterectomy and now visit my surgical oncologist every 6 months. I'm very fortunate and did not need radiation or chemotherapy and the chance of reoccurance is very small. . My cousin and I were both DXed within a week of each other, she passed away 2 years ago with month. After my surgery, I was put on a SSRI for horrible hot flashes. They could not be given HRT because of the cancer Dx and antidepressants could be safely used to control the hot flashes. Little did I know but I'm one of the lucky ones that cannot take SSRI's and had a severe reaction to the drug. That little disclaimer at the end of the TV commercials that flies by 100 MPH~every one of those symptoms was me. After having a total meltdown and scaring the cr@p out of my husband, I took a little three day vacation to the "mental health" floor of the hospital. The doctors weened me off the SSRI and told me I had the most severe reaction that they had ever seen and I was very close death! It was the most horrible experience of my life.

Two years ago I slipped (in dog pee ) in my kitchen and broke my arm in three places. Due to a hysterectomy at such a young age I was now prone to breaks. I had surgery and now have a plate and 8 screws in my left wrist. After 6 month of PT, the fall has left me with permanent nerve damage and weakness in that arm.

I've met some really great people on YT. There have been several that I have met several in person and built great friendships with over the years. I'm hope to be a member here for a long time to come. I am a fiercely loyal and have very strong opinions and convictions over many different issues that I choose to make part of my life. I'm sure that goes without saying

You are an Awesome person!!

I have loved reading this thread, too, and you have reminded me that I need to post something here. I look forward to reading more about people, and I will try to come up with something to write about myself too.

Nice to 'meet' you. You are wise beyond your years. I would have never thought you were 23. You will do great with the passion that you have with veterinary medicine. Thanks for replying to my other post about Khloe's surgery. (: (And I love House too, btw. I have a secret innocent crush on Hugh Laurie).

Nice to put a person behind the profile. I've seen you around. Didn't know you were a Marine or married for 40 years. That is wonderful. (:

Mine is much more bland, but what the heck...

I'm 26, and have been married to my sweet husband for 2 years. Combined we have 3 kids and a furbaby. We also have a baby boy due Sept. 10th to add to the chaos. We love all animals. We have a farm in the mountains with the tamest cattle, deer, donkeys, and chickens that you've probably ever seen. Most of our cattle/livestock has won our hearts and are now pets instead of our living. Thankfully we kept our day jobs.

I'm in college; 14 credit hours away from graduation. Worked as an IT consultant since 2006; I hope to one day work in R&D.

I love heels and handbags. Hanging out at the baseball field for my son's games. Going to my daughter's dance recitals. Volunteering at retirement homes on weekends. Being with my family. Visiting the Outerbanks.

Goals: to be fit again after baby #3, graduate, pursue a career in R&D (consumer behavior intrigues me), raise my kids to be responsible, contributing, well-rounded, and open-minded adults, visit London again, visit Alaska, get a scuba certification, visit Fiji and see the coral reefs, and grow old and happy with my DH.

Funny story to share about those fish...

I was getting married (never went through thank god) and planning my wedding I decided I wanted to do live fish in a bowl shaped like a cocktail glass including a large paper umbrella and straw. So I wanted to do kissing Gouramis in the bowls! Cute right? Well we went to price them and talk to the pet store about buying about 100 of them. YIKES! Soooooo a couple weeks later I was telling my Dad about my centerpieces and he looks at me and says "unless you want 100 dead fish by the end of the reception I wouldn't do that!" LOL Come to find out they cannot live in a bowl like that for more than a few hours at most!!!! The fish store guy never told us this!!! Imagine if we DID go through with it and that happened?? How sad and GROSS! LOL

What a fun thread to read!!

Ok....So obviously my name is Kendra...this is my first forum and I really didnt know to make a fun name up for my screen name.....so Im just boring KendraE...lol!

I am 33 years old and have been married for 16 years to my wonderful husband Jeremy. Yes, do the math, I was young!! I went to college at the age of 16, met Jeremy and fell in love. We got married and had our daughter Brittany, now 15, so I "temperarily" quit college where I was persuing a pre-med degree. Britt was born with some problems and her and school were too much. Two years later, almost to the day, I had my son Cameron, now 13. I had numerous problems with him during my pregnancy and we both almost died. So...after getting both of them here, we decided no more children!!! They have been the light of my life. My son has played hockey since he was 3 and my daughter has been in competetive cheerleading and tumbling since she was 5. Not to mention baseball, football, soccer, track, cross country, etc...they keep us traveling alot! And i love every minute of it! I work as a dental assistant and have been here for 13 years. I also am president of a local non-profit organization. We help needy children year around, especially at Christmas with toys, clothes, food, etc. I have loved this and it has really opened my kids eyes to how fortunate they are. I love life, am a complete people person, love the lake, watching movies, theme parks, (LOVE roller coasters), and cant go a day without eating cheese! My husband and I also own a screen printing shop which keeps us even busier!! He is a lineman and also the assistant chief of our fire department, and here lately we have had a ton of grass fires!! I got my first yorkie, Bevo 2 1/2 years ago after having baby fever really bad...My husband and I decided we were so fortunate in our kids turning out healthy with their rough starts, we didnt wasnt to risk having another....so...Bevo was my new baby! I love him dearly and he is spoiled beyond belief. We just recently got/had Mac (9 weeks old)(the blue born)....Well, that is a little bit about me!!

I'm Jen and I'm 47. I live outside of Dallas. I've been married for 23 years, have an almost 20-year-old daughter (Go Sooners) and an almost 18-year-old son, who is picking a college now. I'll soon be an empty nester, after being a stay-at-home mom for 20 years.

I have four dogs , 2 Cavaliers, a Cocker/Golden mix and Zoe. Zoe was an unexpected addition after my daughter rescued her from a certain death in her previous home. I've since thanked her, as Zoe is just about the cutest, sweetest, funniest, toughest little thing ever!

I love seeing all the things we all have in common! To name a few: I'm not too fond of summer--I'd prefer a cooler climate, but DH thinks it's too cold here. I have a friend whose son Geocaches and found a dead body during his search. My daughter is in love with a wonderful Greek young man, who says his life is just like My Big Fat Greek Wedding...but without the statues in the front yard. DD thinks it's awesome. I love the color pink, and while I wish I could drink Coke and Cosmos, I only drink water and green tea (sometimes a little bit of juice). I'm allergic to wheat and don't eat any sugar at all. I love to cook when I have lots of time to do it. I've lived in 26 homes! My favorite outfit is yoga pants and a t-shirt. I love pilates, yoga and walking, and would like to try Zumba. I spoil my yorkie...a LOT.
Regarding boobs...well, the last year has changed mine: found out I had a genetic mutation for breast and ovarian cancer, so I had a total hysterectomy and double mastectomy, with 2 additional reconstruction surgeries. Plus thumb surgery! All in 12 months...over 27 hours of surgery and anesthesia. So now I'm going through a forgetful stage. I had cool surgery where they used abdominal tissue for my reconstruction. A bonus, as now my stomach is very flat and my boobs look and feel real. And are. Just new...and waaaaaay perkier...and SMALLER...Yayayayayayay (but still a DD)! If anyone you know every needs a mastectomy, please talk to me, my surgery and surgeons were world class and I traveled to go to them.
I'd love to meet people from YT, and hope to get the chance to do so. You are ALL GREAT! Thanks for being you!

It so amazes me how far we have come with the reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy. My Mother had a double mastectomy done in the the early 70 and looked mutilated. Its wonderful to see women not having to go through that. You will have to come to the Denton Dog Show on the 10th of May. I would love to meet you...Lissette

My name is Cheryl and I'm 51 and live in upstate New York.

I was married the 1st time at the way to young age of 18 ( yep didn't last but I have a great 23 year old son)

I'm married to the love of my life now and we have a son who is now 17 ( the years just fly) My hubby and I will soon be married 19 years.

I work as a library assistant in a high school for the last 12 years.

My mother passed away at the age of 63 and I still miss my best friend, but she is the one that passed to me the love of animals.

I have 3 yorkies, 2 cats, and 5 pond fish.

Love camping, boating, antiques, & gardening.
