My sisters and I are very close in age and there is only an 8 month age difference between me and my middle sister and 21 months for my youngest sister. I would some day like to find my birth mother but at the same time it scares the heck out of me with all of the "what ifs".

My dad passed away very young when I was only 17 and I miss him every day. We were very close and it makes me very sad to know that he did not get a chance to see me grow up or be a grandfather to my kids. My mom is 80 yrs old and I've never had a very close relationship with her.

I met my husband when I was 19 and he was 23. We have been married for 25 yrs. He is my best friend and love of my life.
We have 3 children~2 grown sons 24 and 22 plus our daughter Megan 15. Megan was our little miracle baby. Many years earlier I had an etopic pregnancy that ruptures and I almost died. The doctor told me afterward that I would most likely never be able to conceive again. So when I found out that I was pregnant it was just a little bit of a shock. But I finally had my little girl

We have 3 little rescues Pebbles, Bogey and Doodlebug. I'm a member and supporter of YHR.

When my boys were young, I was assistant manager for a larger craft/fabric store but I decided to be a SAHM after Megan. But that didn't last long and I jumped head on into boy/girl scout leader, cheerleading coach, Homeowner Association President, religious ed teacher, PTA board member, HS booster club volunteer and attended more kids sporting events than I can even remember. I am also a certified special education advocate and volunteered to assist writing IEPs. You name it I was volunteering and helping. My kids mean the world to me and I love being their mom. When my sons were in school there was always a houseful of kids here and I enjoyed every minute. They all call me mom even today.

In 1996, I began working with our county government to bring municipal sewer and water to our area. After 3 years of meetings with the state, county and local government we were granted $2.3 million to assist with the project. It was an amazing experience that put me in front of some powerful people in the state. I've since been asked to sit on several planning committees, the most recent being a $12 million road expansion project that is in its final phase of completion. Go figure~I'm known for my calm level headed approach with the community and my ability to bring people together.

At 37, I decided that I wanted go back to school and finish my associates and an now a CST (working in the OR). After graduating I worked on an Organ Procurement team doing bone and tissue harvesting for transplant surgery. So basically, I could removed every bone from your body and name them as I did it.

Currently, I am a Clinical Specialist for a very small company that assists surgeons with breast cancer staging. The best part of my job is supporting the patients on the day of their surgery. I love my job and I know B@@Bies~mammos, lymph nodes, cancer staging, mastectomies, reconstruction, lumpectomies, B@@Bies are my life!

In May '09 I was diagnoses with very rare form of Ovarian Cancer. I had a total hysterectomy and now visit my surgical oncologist every 6 months. I'm very fortunate and did not need radiation or chemotherapy and the chance of reoccurance is very small. . My cousin and I were both DXed within a week of each other, she passed away 2 years ago with month. After my surgery, I was put on a SSRI for horrible hot flashes. They could not be given HRT because of the cancer Dx and antidepressants could be safely used to control the hot flashes. Little did I know but I'm one of the lucky ones that cannot take SSRI's and had a severe reaction to the drug. That little disclaimer at the end of the TV commercials that flies by 100 MPH~every one of those symptoms was me. After having a total meltdown and scaring the cr@p out of my husband, I took a little three day vacation to the "mental health" floor of the hospital. The doctors weened me off the SSRI and told me I had the most severe reaction that they had ever seen and I was very close death! It was the most horrible experience of my life.

Two years ago I slipped (in dog pee ) in my kitchen and broke my arm in three places. Due to a hysterectomy at such a young age I was now prone to breaks. I had surgery and now have a plate and 8 screws in my left wrist. After 6 month of PT, the fall has left me with permanent nerve damage and weakness in that arm.

I've met some really great people on YT. There have been several that I have met several in person and built great friendships with over the years. I'm hope to be a member here for a long time to come. I am a fiercely loyal and have very strong opinions and convictions over many different issues that I choose to make part of my life. I'm sure that goes without saying
Wow Jodie I just saw this and agree with MauiGirl - you are awesome!
