| Unemployment Anyone else having a hard time getting a decent job? I have never had this issue. I am in insurance but alot of the jobs are straight commission or lower paying than my unemployment check. I am so bored and feeling worthless. I always have gotten a job within a few weeks. I need to pull myslef out of this and try to enjoy the gift of time. |

| I have been blessed with my job. However, my brother in law has had a really hard time finding one. He finally signed up with a temporary company. We are hoping it will work out for him. The economy is tough right now. I think it is hard for many people. Good luck to you. I wish you the best in finding the right job.

| I'm in the same boat. I got three months severance plus a performance bonus before losing my job and I was super, super picky and took my time trying to find a job. Now I'm ready to take anything that comes along, but it's tough even finding anything. Let's all hope the economy really is improving.

| Yeah, it stinks out there. I've been unemployed since October, and my benefits ran out a couple weeks ago. I have put in so many applications, anywhere from 2-4 a day. I had my first interview this week, and have a second one tomorrow, so I am very hopeful. I hope you are able to find something soon. I didn't enjoy my time off just because of the stress. |

| I am retired and thankful I do not have to compete in this job market. No advice but I just wanted to wish you well and say congrats for getting 2 interviews lined up in one day! Keep at it and I'm sure you will find something. Many jobsa have found they can low-ball folks during a rough economy. Starting pays may be well under what you are used to but they may be willing to step up the raises when they see your performance. If you see a job you like except for pay, don't be afraid to ask about that possibility. Might be worth it to tell them you are willing to accept a lower starting pay if they are willing to re-evaluate at regular intervals to bring you up to what you are used to earning and what you are worth. Sometimes people are afraid to talk money -- don't be. It is a very important factor in accepting or declining a job. Showing you are confident enough to discuss it may be another plus for you.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | It really is hard to find a job at the moment. Although I am in full time employment my BF has been unemployed for nearly a year now and is really struggling to find work. Hopefully things will get better soon, good luck!

| Luckily the recession didn't hit much here, so I've been able to keep my job. My company has actually contracted a few people from the USA and Mexico to work up here in Canada. It's the first time we've done something like that! I am working with a group now from Arizona, and one of the guys actually moved his whole family here. The others go back home every few months for a week or two to see their families. I don't think I could be away from my family that long, but it's what they have to do for work I guess

| I know it's tough for everyone right now. We have been lucky, but also realize that anything can happen at a moments notice so I try to not take anything for granted. I'd just like to tell anyone looking for work, to keep your heads held high, and good luck to you in your searches. I hope something works out for you very soon.
