| I think mine's a Brother.... yeah I don't use it that often, but I love it, it's simple only has two stitches (I'm a college student too, and have no talent when it comes to sewing). I made Harley some beds and toys, I think my mom has a computerized sewing machine, it can do sewing and basic embriodery. But don't quote me on that, I only know how to sew straight lines. Depending on the programs at your school, you may also be able to find a fashion design or costume design student who you could pay a few bucks to teach you how to do some things. I know we had a costume design student in our res in first year, and she was always sewing random things. Good luck! post pics of your masterpieces

I will have to learn on my own I guess...If you don't mind, can you post pictures of what you have made thus far? It's so interesting to see all the different things people make for their babies

You want a manual sewing machine.. a student or beginners model The computerized means you commucate to the sewing machine via an internal computer.. the embroidery machines are totaly computerized. Again, check the local adult classes at the high schools, or sewing centers that sell machines. Brother is a good basic machine and the centers/shops that sell them will have classes. You don't need much, just one or two. Get a pattern, read the directions and follow them step by step. The public network -- pbs -- also has shows it think. You can even buy videos that will help. There are many self taught sewers that really sew well!! Good luck.. please don't forget me .. want pictures!!
