This may sound stupid, but what's the difference between an embroidery machine and a sewing machine? What's a computerized sewing machine? I didn't know there's SO MANY varieties...I'm thinking of getting a Singer or a Brother basic sewing machine...what do you think?? It will take me awhile for my work to look like yours though! |
I teach middle school... home economics.
You want a manual sewing machine.. a student or beginners model
The computerized means you commucate to the sewing machine via an internal computer.. the embroidery machines are totaly computerized.
Again, check the local adult classes at the high schools, or sewing centers that sell machines. Brother is a good basic machine and the centers/shops that sell them will have classes. You don't need much, just one or two.
Get a pattern, read the directions and follow them step by step. The public network -- pbs -- also has shows it think. You can even buy videos that will help.
There are many self taught sewers that really sew well!!
Good luck.. please don't forget me .. want pictures!!
