| Not happy with new hair I went to a salon today at the mall with my girlfriend. We both wanted to get highlights and a hair cut. I had a stylist for 4 years but wanted to try something new since she wasn't getting what I was asking sometimes. I went to the mall and did it in November, I loved it! It turned out great, I did high lights and low lights and a cut. It was about 80-85$. Well today I didn't have an appointment and they were booked up so we went to a different one in the mall. We got there and the lady informed me they are the same owner of both the salons and that I'd be more pleased here. I know I should of asked how much everything cost but with what she said in mind I figured it was around the same pricing. I mean most places around here charge the same unless its a big fancy salon. So she finishes my hair and it looks nice and I was happy with it. Then I went to pay for it and nearly died when she told me 150$. I handed the money over and walked out, I turned back and asked what I was paying for exactly? She said, high lights, hair cute and toner. I said I wish you would of told me toner was extra, I've never been charged extra for toner? She wanted to use it because my color didn't turn out to her liking? So once I get to my friends house and check the hair out I find that I am NOT 100% happy with the quality. for 150$ dollars my hair does not look any better then if I went to a cheap place. For starters the high lights in my bands are blotchy and I've got a few orange-ish red streaks. Which I understand because I had brown low lights in it but it's in 2 or 3 spots, it looks like it was "whipped" off or smuged the color kind of? Regardless I am NOT happy and I want my money back. It was too late to call when I got home but I am going to call them tomorrow. I am really not happy AT ALL with my hair, it looks alright, but I think I paid WAYYY too much and the quality is NOT there! Top it off I told her I didnt want alot of highlights on the lower half of my head and I've got lots, so I paid for full when I didn't want full? So is it alright if I contact them and demand a refund? I don't want anyone there fixing it up for me, I don't want to go back there EVER. I just feel for what I paid, my hair should be perfect and have real gold flakes or something!! lol Last edited by yorkie_mama22; 02-19-2011 at 08:15 PM. |

YT 2000 Club Member | WOW.. that seems like a lot of money. Sorry it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. I don't know if they would do any thing about it but it wouldn't hurt to go there and speak to them about the situation. Good luck!

| Tell her you want to talk to the owner. Then ask the owner if they really are the same salon. THEN tell her you're not happy with it and somebody more experienced needs to fix it. The only reason stylists use toner is if they mess up because it "tones" down the "oops". I would for sure have them fix it and they shouldn't charge you anything.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | That is a lot of money for something you are not happy with, so I wouldnt let it go. I would call and ask to see the owner. Ask him if they really are the same salon like you were told. Tell him that you told the stylist what you wanted and she didnt listen then charged you extra for it. You have already paid the money so you have nothing to loose by asking Good luck!

| I pay 150 but that is for my whole head and because my hair is really thick. Just the front is 70 bucks. Do you have thick hair, that is maybe why it was 150? I fully understand you not being happy, but I doubt they will give you your money back, they will probably ask you if they can fix it or maybe give you half the money back, maybe. Please don't take this the wrong way , but you can't expect to get a full refund, maybe half not full IMO. The work was done and you didn't question anything till after you left the salon, I understand you are not happy with it and I believe you should be compensated , but I doubt they will refund you fully,. Good Luck |
