| I always tell myself I need to shift some lard and now that I'm retired I can't use the 'no time' excuse any more. I need to lose weight for the sake of my health - I've had a heart attack and a stroke in recent years - but I just don't have the motive or desire for taking exercise any more. Now if my husband would consent to our having a dog again, that would be different! We had a Yorkie before so I don't see why we can't have one again....I just need to get him to agree to the idea in principle and there's my exercise problem solved!!! |

| The point value on some foods has changed. I used to get 18 points and now I get 29. Fruits and most vegetables are 0 points. Peas, corn and my favorite avocado still have points. I had to buy new books and a new calculator (the little slide doesn't work now). It is a much more nutritious program with the change in the fruits and vegetables and seems to allow more protein. Before I would pass on fruits and vegetables in favor of a carb. Good luck, it is actually an easier program once you get used to the new changes.

| Thor's Human Donating Member | Is there another little slidey thing, or do you have to have an actual electronic WW calculator?

I'm with ya! So much easier to gain than lose!!! However, my doc said I'm pre-diabetic and on the scale of 1 to 10 for heart problems, I'm at 8 . . . not good. So, I'm following my doc's plan. Already lost 5 pounds . . . . another 15 to go. Then I'll work on shedding the next 10 pounds.

| There is a new members book which lists quite a lot of foods and the points value for exercise (according to your weight and the intensity of the excercise). No more slidey things. There is a new calculator and protein, carbs, total fat and fiber give you the point value.

| I'm in! I need to lose 20-30lbs really for my frame. I am first setting my goal at 10lbs. I've been really motivated by Wii Fit these past few days and I hope I can keep it up. My main thing is eating healthy. I eat out alot and I need to learn how to eat healthy at restaurants and resist ordering all the fried fattyfoods and drinking two-three sodas at a dinner. I'd love to join the YT group!

| Senior Yorkie Talker | Okay so tonight I made, Baked spaghetti Carbonara from the weight watchers online. Not exactly carbonara but it wasnt bad. It was made from wheat noodles, turkey bacon and fat free egg substitute. It was 6 points. Not sure I would rate it with Carbonara, but not bad! I made frozen peas with it. I found a cookie recipe for Caramel Cookies that was only 1 point per cookie. Not bad all in all....... If anyone wants the recipe let me know. Its a start right????
