Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | UFOs in New York. After reading the story about the possible UFO sighting in New York last week I have just read that a very similar set of lights has been seen in Texas: After New York 'UFO' sightings how do they explain mirror image over El Paso? | Mail Online Did you happen to see this? and what are your thoughts?

No Longer a Member | I see it as people letting their imaginations get the better of them...People have the ability to create something out of nothing...it is quite possible that the mirror image was actually photoshopped to look that way, or it was just a coinceidence (sp?)... |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Yeah I know what you mean... I still find it interesting though. A few months ago my mum let the dogs out into the garden at night, she looked up into the sky and saw two white lights and a red flashing light grouped together moving across the sky, just like a plane you know? Well thats what she thought it was then suddenly they burst into a huge green light and shot off really fast... strange.

YT Addict | My father had thought he saw an UFO. He was walking with some friends and he was in the country on a dirt road with fields all around him so you could see quite far away. He said he saw 3 purple lights in a triangular shape then they went across the sky pretty quickly. They left purple streaks across the sky for a few seconds too. He wasn't the only one who saw it either. One of his friends looked toward him and said "Oh my god dude, did you see that!!" (Silly teenage boy language! I guess I can't say too much considering I'm a teenage girl!) But he replied with " What? Those purple lights? YES!?!" He was a little freaked out, but not paranoid or anything. I need to start a new thread about UFO stories!

| I live in Tinley Park, IL and in 2004 there were objects spotted over our community. My son was a Sophomore in HS and was has on his way home from a friends house in a convertible that evening. I happened to be out in the yard when he got home watching the strange lights above us. He said that his friend and dad had watched all the way from Frankfort, IL as the lights moved around in the sky. We sat out on the yard for about an hour and talked and watch as they moved back and forth through the sky. It wasn't until the next day that I saw a report on the news that we were not the only one that saw them. If you Google search Tinley Park, IL UFO there are a ton of hits. There was not a noise to be heard and they moved randomly about and then back together. Here are a few links about the story. I'm not sure what it was we saw that night and it was never explained. There was even a documentary on the History Channel it as well. They came to the Tinley Convention Center looking for people to interview.

| Almost hate to admit this, but back in the 70's I thought I saw a UFO (not saying it was a flying saucer or from outer space, but it was clearly unidentified at the time). We were at the beach in the evening just after dark. Suddenly this object came into view with lights looking like they were rotating around the center. You could not see the aircraft shape exactly, just a little darker where it was and it appeared to be saucer shaped. (Could have been my imagination though as it was dark). It seemed to just show up, moved vertically, stopped and hovered, moved straight up and seemed to sort of vanish. Everyone was looking at it and we were all real quiet. I told my husband I thought it looked like a flying saucer. He thought that was silly but had no idea what we had just seen. Then from the hushed group of people around us a little boy said "That was a flying saucer!" Some laughed a little nervously and I said -- "See, even the kid knows what he saw!" But my husband never believed that was what it was. We learned about the VTOL, Vertical Take off and Landing Aircraft after that, and maybe that could have been one being tested. We were in a Navy town. But I have always wondered about it. I do believe there is every reason to think somewhere in this vast universe and beyond there are other life forms more advanced than we are. God could well have other worlds going the same time as ours. So, I will not be surprised if we find proof of other worlds. I think it very probable. Too bad so many hoaxes have made true research along those lines almost impossible. Asfor these lights.....unsure. The daylight ones could have been the balloons but the night time pics in Texas could not have been balloons. Sicne they were reported by many, seems unlikely to be a hoax. Who knows....but wouldn't it be cool if we did get visitors!

| I think that the UFOs should go back home. There's no intelligent life here. |

| After watching the Youtubes I posted they made it look like Tinley Park is some small town in the middle of the sticks. I really don't have a clue what we watched and as long an nothing landed in by backyard~it's all good

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | I believe there is something out there, with all the galaxys we know of and plenty that we dont know of I think it would be very naive of us to think we are the only life which exists. Also if you think how far technology has come in just a few hundred years imagine how far it would have developed in say 1000 or 1000000 years? It could well be that in 1000 or 1000000 humans cracked time travel, they could be humans from the future coming to study life in the past. But if they are UFOs they are smart to keep there distance. Seems with the human race anything we dont understand we seem to kill, sad but true.

| I've seen four. Three in Orlando, Fl. in 1967, and one in St. Paul, MN. in 1978. Two of my grown sons and their girl friends saw a few flying low and right above the ocean one night when they were on their way home (coming north) from Santa Barbara, in 1996. Anyway, every time I read, see or hear of UFO's I can't help but thing of what it says in Revelation 21-10

Also, Ezekiel's wheel of fire has been interpreted by many to be a description of a flying craft (UFO?). A quick google search will bring up a lot of hits on this. I'm fascinated by the mysteries of the past, too. It's been said that we're a race with amnesia. We truly don't know our origins and that is sad. There are lots of clues left for us to speculate over, but no real certainty. I believe there was a tremendous amount of knowledge lost when the Romans burned the library at Alexandria. In many ways, we may just now be getting back to where we may have been long ago, as far as knowledge goes. And there is so much that will never be recovered but must wait for someone to re-discover it. Who knows how advanced the human race might be had we not spent the last few thousand years destroying each other.

As far as our warring getting in the way of progress though -- not sure about that as so many discoveries have actually been the result of research FOR war purposes. Think of one quick to come to mind --nuclear energy -- from weapons research. Just about all the advances in communication, transportation, energy and even medicine has a connection to war or the effects of war. As horrible as it is to contemplate, war has even made a significant impact on population control in some areas. I wish we were a much more evolved species that could make these advances for other reasons!! Hopefully we will be eventually.
