No Longer a Member | Carpal Tunnel Tomorrow I meet with my dr to check for this. I've been having some real bad symptoms in my wrist as of late and I think I've got it. For a couple years I've had symptoms of it but they normally went away, just the last week they've come back and arent going away with just ice and asprin. Ugh, it blows and I hope it's not it but from what I've read on all those medical sites I'm showing all the symptoms, numbness in fingers 1-3 and in my thumb, weakness and unable to grip objects without horrible pain shooting from my thumb to mid-forearm, tingling sensation at night that occasionally wakes me up...then I did the self tests, I tapped the side of my wrist and got an "awesome" electric shock feeling in my arm, I tried to put weight on it for a minute and the symptoms showed in full force...This really sucks! But I should find out tomorrow, wish me luck that its something else...but then again I think the only something else would be RA and I'm too young for that! Sorry, I guess this is sort of a vent thread. |

No Longer a Member | Thanks, luckily I'm in the military so medical is covered. I'm hoping that just the brace and rest and what not will help it so I don't have to get that surgery, sounds painful even though it's beneficial I'd rather not have to get a surgery. |

| I ended up with carpal tunnel and something with my elbow ~ ulnar tunnel? Can't remember. Came from years of typing and it was very painful. I went through PT but it was not helpful. I did end up having surgery on my wrist and elbow and was back to work within about one week; though I did take it easy that first week. Now it's fine but on days when I do a lot of writing or typing; it will come back but usually go away again after a night's rest. Good Luck. I know it can really hurt.

| Good luck! I had severe symptoms for almost a year that were so bad I couldn't do much at all. I had carpal tunnel in both arms, thorasic outlet syndrome and double crush which means my pain went from the fingers on one hand, all the way up my arm, across my shoulders and neck and down the other arm to my other hand. It's rare that both arms are affected at one time...aren't I the lucky one Mine was so bad that the pain went all the way up to my neck and saying certain words would hit a nerve or something and I would get a sharp pain like a shock at the back of my neck. After trying braces, ice, pain meds, myofacial release therapy, chiropractic adjustments, rest and anthing else I could think of I finally had surgery on my right arm. Most of my pain was gone and I felt pretty good...I Just had my left arm done and I feel great! I hope you are as lucky with yours |

No Longer a Member | So I'm wearing my brace, it sucks, and my hand is still feeling numbish and my wrist is all achy, I keep taking it off, streching it out and what not...hope I'm not doing anything wrong. Doc wants me to wear this thing as much as possible over the next 6-8 weeks. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I had surgery on mine several years ago. Best thing I ever did. OMG it was painful before then... would take me to my knees. Came home same day after surgery. Just needed pain pills & time. Have had full use of my hand since with no further problems. : )
