I think Home Depot or Lowes has a cleaner for Pergo but my girlfriend uses a spec of Clorox and water on her & they always look beautiful! |
I love my floormate but one of my brushes stopped spinning. Do you know if I can replace it myself? Did this happen to anyone else? |

Help on Hoover Floormate again PLS! Back to the Floormate thread! I finally fired up my yard sale purchased Floormate and it does not work right. I think this has potential but something is wrong with this one. She told me it was new, had it for a while but never used. Upon inspection, I don't think that is quite right. Seems to have been used and I think it is a much older model than what is now available. It made lots of noise, but did not seem to suck the water back up. When I was empty on top, the bottom had only a few trickles of dirty water. When the floor dried it looked horrible. Sort of streaked the floor. I may have used too strong a solution and I did use a watered down Bissell product so to be fair it was not Floormate. I am giving up on this one -- only $20 down the drain. So -- what model do I get? There is a blue one and a green one, even saw a white & red model in one pic. There is a wide path version to which would be great for me because of the large room sizes. Any suggestions on specific models? I hate when there are so many to choose from and I really don't see the obvious differences (except for the wide path). |
Actually she did tell me it was fairly new, only used a few times (not never used). I was thinking more on this and did not want to get it wrong (insomnia brain!). But the model seems to be much older than she intimated. There -- I think I have it right now. Most of all I just need recommendations for a new one as I have no patience with something that is not working right. |

I'm sorry yours isnt working well. I used mine on all of the tiles floors and was done in half an hour this weekend. Felt so good to be done with it so quickly. Go to walmart.com and read the reviews before choosing a new one. |
The Hoover.com site has 20% off right now and they have discontinued models too at nice savings. I was wanting the Wide Path, but I am finding that it is only a 6 amp machine where as the new blue one FH40010 is a 12 amp. I am thinking the more power to suck everything back up, the better. So, I think I will take off and see if I can find it in town or if I will have to order. |
And that is what I wound up getting -- the FH40010 at Walmart for $139. I have not used it yet, or even opened the box. We had a much needed rainstorm today that did not let up all day long! I got soaked getting in and out. They had a backlog trying to load at the front door, so impatient me just went out to the car in the torrent. Everything was soaked and by the time I got everything in, dried off, me in dry clothes, I was exhausted! Time enough tomorrow to try the new machine out! Kept reading reviews of how they only last @ a year, so I paid $10 for another year of extended replacement warranty. I usually pass on these but I figured for $10 another year was pretty good. |
