| Mosquitos What do you do against mosquitos? We have a creek in the back and a ditch in the front, cannot do much about that. The property next door is empty and gets cut every 2-3weeks by the city so the grass is high. I just cut down 30 feet of cedar hedge. I burn citronella, have a mosquito trap and put up a bat house. I don't like using "deep woods" or "off" too much because I'm afraid if Merlin licks my skin he gets sick. Last night we tried to sit at the fire and they were attacking us viciously. Any ideas?

| Do you have a mosquito abatement program? Around here there is a truck that comes at least once a month that sprays a fog to help control the problem. If there is standing water there are some type of bricks they throw into the water to kill the larvae before they even hatch. The fogging will kill the adults. You can also purchase a hand held fogger from Home Depot or Lowes that will pretty much do the same thing by willing the adults. The brinks can also be purchased too. My other suggestion would be to cut back some of the vacant house's yard when you mow. That will help to keep them further away too. Mosquito's are how dogs become infected so it is very important to have Merlin on heartworm protections.

| Thanks, will look for the bricks. Friends had the fogger, I'm just not sure how poisenous it is for humans as well . Mosquitos are called "Canada's airforce"...lol. Merlin gets Revolution once a month re heartworm.

| We have had parties where my husband would spray all the bushes around on house with the fogger. He would do it while they were all dormant during the day and it would control them at night. In IL we have West Nile that is carried by mosquitoes and people have died from the disease. What I do know is that they will not travel a far distance and stay right in their area. So if you were to fog at your property line or onto the vacant house that would cut down on your problems. From what I understand you only need to make a perimeter.
