Do you have a mosquito abatement program? Around here there is a truck that comes at least once a month that sprays a fog to help control the problem. If there is standing water there are some type of bricks they throw into the water to kill the larvae before they even hatch. The fogging will kill the adults. You can also purchase a hand held fogger from Home Depot or Lowes that will pretty much do the same thing by willing the adults. The brinks can also be purchased too. My other suggestion would be to cut back some of the vacant house's yard when you mow. That will help to keep them further away too.

Mosquito's are how dogs become infected so it is very important to have Merlin on heartworm protections.
