a little advise to my buddies - don't wait like I did to fix a computer issue - had I knew about Matt (thanks to Karen) I would have never almost crashed. Course I thought I could fix this myself but in this case - was wrong

Just a few days with viruses and trojans can wreak havoc on your computer and that's just what happened to me

wish we knew about Matt when Patti's computer had a similar trojan problem - he could have fixed it at a very very reasonable price rather than her giving up and taking a hammer to it ....poor woman - I hope she gets a new computer soon

yup I am - I had offers but would have lost my computer for days if not weeks - he had me up and running in hours - all over the phone - no remote access cause my computer was blocking EVERYTHING

it was serious. I couldn't even open a Word Document - None of my label and card programs worked and no email access - just getting online was a nightmare

ll I got were pop up after pop almost like Patti had. She went to porn sites and I was almost at that level - mine were just Viagra sites ....no nekked people

Hi Matt...I'll do want to set up a time for you to have a look at my computer. I'm still getting that AVG pop up that says: Your computer needs to be restarted in order to finish the updating process. (AVG cannot update important services while the system is using them). Then it gives me the option to restart now or postpone for 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes. I've just been X'ing it out and the darn thing keeps popping up. Should I go through your site and message you from there? Thanks! I'm so excited there may be hope for this computer!

I had AVG for years and never saw that happen

Matt and I finally were able to get connected and finished my session with him last night - it took quite a while because he is normally able to remotely connect and in my case - we couldn't.... so he spent some serious time trying different fixes and viola - he got me connected to his remote site

it was pretty cool - I sat and ate ice cream while my computer was being fixed before my eyes

In my case.... I had a bad one in my boot files which he termed 'the brain' of the computer. I knew I had brain issues but not like this

this morning I was able to get online with no pop ups and no virus alerts !

ps - from what Matt told me - my computer had far more issues than I was aware of and all this happened in a very short span of time - one day it was fine and one day I was practically crashed

he's very patient and very good.

Thanks again Matt ! I'm keeping my fingers crossed about that boot trojan and so far so good ! I shot you a pm

I've got a question for you Matt.

Last night Firefox prompted me to upgrade, which I did. I had to do a restart, so I went on to bed. This morning I get on and go to my bookmarks....they are all GONE!

Also the little tabs across the top (don't know what they are called) but they marked sites I frequent even though I never utilized the tabs, they've always been there....now they are gone too.

Do you know what happened? I hated losing my book marks but that isn't as monumental a problem as Vee, and others have had.

Vee...I'm thrilled you are up and running with no problems...and your brains is all okay!

Did it say it need to restart the computer or Firefox? cause I've never ran into a update wiping out my favorites or page links

It was a prompt to restart Firefox. I've never had problems updating Firefox either but I've had a few other odd things happening recently.

Quite honestly, I think whatever is going on with all the computers is from Facebook. I've received several bogus emails from friends there, although I don't think I've actually gone to any of the links but one (it was the first) and it was a Viagra ad

I do currently run Spyware Doctor and have had no issues with it over the past 3 years.

Many of the bookmarks I had were transferred from IE, guess it's possible to recover some of them from there

Just like it use to be Myspace getting everyones computers infected, cause that use to be the popular social site, now that its Facebook, people are focusing on that. Same can go about windows, its the most used operating system in the world, this is why virus and malware writers focus on windows, instead of OSX or Linux. If you would like me to run a diagnostics on your computer I can. Diagnostics are FREE!!

Thank you Matt...but...YAY!....bookmarks are back. I shut down the computer, restarted and they came back. But, I still might go with a diagnostic just to make certain things are as they should be.

Connie, I just wanted to make sure you got my PM, about their have been some cases with the update files getting corrupted, and to uninstall AVG, reboot, then reinstall latest AVG

Hey Matt - ALL is good on my end and my computer is running faster and I have AVG back again vs the other antivirus thanks to you ! I really appreciate your help - this is stuff I def coundn't have done on my own and you were great !

Connie - he can really help you - I'd go for it girlfriend
