| Just because you CAN Doesn't mean you should. For one to post about their private sex life on a yorkie forum, or any other forum on the internet is inappropriate, and very poor judgement. There are some subjects that should not be discussed with total strangers, in mixed company, across all age groups, on an international media. Talk to your girlfriends, talk to your sister, talk to your mother, your Dr, a counselor. But Good Lord almighty, it only takes an ounce of common sense to realize that it should not be discussed HERE. If you have friends on here that you want to discuss it with PM them or email them, but who, in their right mind would seek that kind of advice from total strangers, on the internet!!!!! I a little common sense goes a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way. |

| That would be the TMI Syndrome......I'm surprised myself some of the things people will post (not just on this forum) because it's out there f-o-r-e-v-e-r, it can't be deleted or erased...... A while back I was asked to remove a quote from my signature because it was *not appropriate for a family friendly forum*.... hmmmmm......I'll have to let Grandma know there's a topic here that she might like ....

| I've already warned the guys to stay away from these type threads . TMI is an understatement sometimes! By the way, I have opened NOT any of these type threads since I made that mistake as a newbie. TMI entirely...especially for us YorkieDudes .

| I have noticed quite a few of these "crossing the line" threads recently.

I read one of the threads and did have a good chuckle at some of what was being posted, but did think to myself......there is a time and place for everything, and perhaps YT isn't the best place for sex education. But I also trust admin and the mods here and if they didn't have a problem with the content of the thread, then so be it.

| I have to agree... TMI. The worst is, this is a public forum.... your neighbours or your children could read those posts years from now! Perhaps even your husband/wife/mother in law! There is a time and place for everything.... and not on a yorkie forum.. even if it is Off Topic...

| I understand that admin and moderators have a very difficult task and usually do a very good job, but I would like to make reference to a thread that I had begun a few days ago regarding the same thread mentioned here and in my opinion should not have been closed. I found that thread to be obscene, sexually oriented, and offensive. I do not believe that I was being unreasonable nor was I confrontational and only asked that it be moved to a more private place. I was not disrespectful to Admin or our Moderators , nor do I believe that I deserve the bashing I received from some members of this community. My thread was not in bad taste, but only stated my opinion, yet it was never left open long enough for others who might feel the way I do to read and respond. The person, or persons, responsible for heating the thread should have been held accountable not the OP ( me ) who began the thread. Of course, the objectionable thread remains open and by the response that I have received since, I am not the only member who feels that it should have been closed, or moved somewhere private. To say I am disappointed is putting it mildly. I was absolutely appalled at how I was treated and almost pulled my account, but during the hours that followed I was reminded that when I first joined I almost left immediately because of the lack of respect I had seen time and time again from some members, not aimed at me, but still not easy to watch. Oddly enough, at that time I then happened to come across a thread called Happy Tails to You, Moments of Pleasure to Treasure with Papi and Patti Cake. Here I found the loving, kind and compassionate members I had hoped to find. Through them, I was then introduced to others of the same kind and loving nature and they all remain in my life, and heart, to this day. I will be forever grateful to YT for this. I do realize that not everyone is going to be liked by everyone, but this is a matter of respect for other fellow members. It is getting more and more difficult to allow my name to be associated with a forum that allows such objectionable, obscene material open and available for anyone to see. This is an open forum and my name is listed here and this makes what is printed here important to me. I was told in my thread that if I did not like it I could always just pack my stuff and leave, but you know what? This is just as much my forum as theirs. I donate, I participate, and I have a right to voice my opinion.... as long as it is in a respectful manner, which I believe I have done. That is more than I can say about how I was treated in return. I have followed all the rules and with pleasure and I only ask that others do the same. Please review the rules. I have . | Janie, I understand your being upset and understandably so......I logged on to that thread towards the end and I about fell of my chair when I saw there was actual *toys* pictured on that thread.......I'm no prude by any means, I have even had the same silly conversations talking with GF's, but on this particular forum I found it surprising...... I'm sorry you where treated badly for voicing your objections. You had a right to do so....It would certainly cut down on people feeling they where treated unfairly if the rules where enforced equally .......IMO

| I purposely stayed away from that thread and apparently missed some others. Sometimes I'm so clueless but sometimes, I think I like being clueless. While I do try to have a live and let live attitude, I really don't want to come on YT and openly discuss private things, nor do I want to read about others private business. Now I know that I can choose to ignore them but I'm concerned that this attitude will give some the idea that it's accepted. And although I have to admit I have not read that whole other thread, the little bit I did read was quite enough. I'm afraid that once that stuff is accepted as the norm here, well, it's just not a place I'd want to be any longer. Maybe I'm just too old fashioned or something... |

That thread was definitely sexually oriented and therefore should not only be closed, but should be removed completely. I read the comments about not allwoing your kids to watch certain programs and visit certain websites etc. Well that is all well and good, but I not only don't want my children seeing it, I don't want anyone elses seeing it either, because THOSE kids interact with MY kids. Protecting children is everyones responsiblity. Yes you have the right to free speach, but along with freedom comes responsibility. That is what being an adult is all about. It is not about being able to do ANYTHING you want, it is about taking responsibility for your actions. As I said, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

If having morals makes one Old Fashioned then I am proud to be old fashioned. I'm not a prude, my GFs and I can have some pretty wild discussion, but it is not in public.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I read a tiny bit - to each his own but do agree - the content was a bit much for a dog site and should actually have a disclaimer about content - I am far from a prude but I actually was amazed at the personal info out there - I've always felt what you post is there forever also - that part would be the 1st reason I would never discuss my personal life and what I do in private. Some of what I read was funny though - some was just way over the top (IMO) and I'd hate to see kids on here reading - but they can see everything else these days I guess - It's just not what I come here for. So I pretty much skipped the whole 'discussion' and hell - I already know all I need to know about sex so reading about it just doesn't interest me My thing is the dogs - friends and a little escape sharing with people who have the same passion for animals. I don't know too many people in my personal life who even want to discuss their pets - to them - that's all they are - to us - it's a bit more plus we're big animal lovers - (most of us) and it's great to read about the stories (the happy ones) or learn about the sad ones....which have been way too many lately it seems In the years I've been here I've learned so much about many things - that's why I've stayed. There's plenty of adult sites for sex talk but I guess YT is now one of them |
