| cooks-do you use a pasta maker? I like to make homemade noodles, and am thinking about getting a pasta maker. I don't know anyone who uses one. There are so many different machines out there, with a huge price range. I hate to get one and find out it wasn't worth it. If you do use one, is it electric? I have also wondered about using my stand mixer to mix the dough. It would make it a lot easier. I'd appreciate any feedback. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I got a pasta maker (electric) several years ago for a Christmas gift...lol...I always get the latest, greatest kitchen gadget....think my family is trying to get me to cook more often I like this pasta maker, it does a good job but I don't utilize it like I should. I still buy pasta and don't think about making it fresh - it is A LOT of trouble to go through and no one here seems to be so enamored with "fresh" pasta enough to make me go through the trouble of making it, and cleaning up the mess. Anyway, the pasta maker sits in my pantry, along with the bread maker, the rocket grill, waffle maker, and the Cuisinart food processor. I did make a fabulous linguine w/clams when I was using it more often.

Funny you should mention the bread maker. I gave mine to my ex when we divorced. I loved the bread maker at first, and then it was longer between making loafs, and after a while I didn't use it at all. I guess I should count myself lucky none of the stores around here had a pasta maker in stock when I was gung ho for one. | |
