MENOPAUSE...the good, the bad and the ugly...

LOL! I started on soy milk and soy beans immediately as part of my everyday diet. It really does help. It took about a good 2-3 years for everything to finally calm down. Now, I still do get an occasional hot flash, they never really go away for me, as I have no ovaries, so no estrogen. So whatever I take in is what I have.

But do not fade......it does get better...........honestly!

Oh yeah locking keys in car, how the heck did I do that? We waited for hubby to pick us up from the park for 4 hours. lol. Me and the dogs, sitting on a park bench, I borrowed other folks cellular phones, to leave every more desperate messages for my husband. A day in the "free" park, cost $60.00 sigh.

Thank God no more night or any other time of the day sweats. But sleep disturbances continue. Wake up at 2am fully awake, like okay time to get up! Or fall asleep at 3pm in the afternoon at your computer.

So many things go south.... But there is some good things too... No more cramps, and kotex,tampax etc.

Wait.... then am I going through menopause? I forget why I walk into a room all the time!!! I'm only 24, if I'm like that now, imagine what I'm going to be like when I finally get to menopause.

Hot flush just reading this thread, tried every thing out there, trying green tea now, cut out chocolate and coffee completely (misery) going to try vitamin D as suggested, got the mood swings under control (nearly a divorce) used Remifemin.(spelling????)My doctor says Asian woman don't suffer from menopause because they don't have dairy products, she also said hot flushes will last as long as my Mums, asked Mum she said she didn't have hot flushes, coming into winter over hear and for once I'm looking forward to being cold. Glad to not have the monthly but don't get that extra horny feeling now either, can't win.

I completely understand. Those are some of the reasons I went back on hormone replacement.

Hot all the time during the day-terrible night sweats, forgetfulness and absent mindedness(sp?). Amazing I make it home from work some days! So today is garbage and recycle day, I am late for work, rushing to get the trash out, throw on my shoes and bolt out to work. Get to work-and someone says 'You have two different shoes on!' Look down, and sure as heck, two different shoes! They don't even look alike! One is a pink thong, and the other is a black sandal-oh boy. How in the world did I get all the way to work and not notice??? (All I could do was laugh at myself! After all, I know everyone else was!)

Menopause-at least now I have an excuse.....

That is so funny. I actually did the same thing, regarding the shoes. I had bought two pairs of shoes that were the same style, but different colors...one was black and the other navy. I thought I had on both of the navy ones until several of my co-workers told me I didn't.

The phone rings, I pick-up the TV remote and say 'Hello', then I answer the phone, and after the call, try to operate the microwave with it, then go to put the remote in the freezer, and the cream in the cabinet. Made total sense at the time! Going on 10 years more cold intolerance than hot flashes now. Tried to balance my checkbook one day, all I did was put jacket on, take jacket off, by the time I found where I had left off, time to put jacket on again, found left off spot, take jacket off for the entire freaking day! Unbelievable!

Menopause is even more fun when you work in a lunchroom, like I do, with 8 women and 1 man and 6 of the women are in different stages of menopause, the other 2 have PMS. Lucky man. Great video, I think I could do this on some days. I tried all kinds of antidepressants and over the counter drugs but found out that Hershey bars work the best.
