![]() My family can still stay up until 5 or 6am partying when it's a "big" birthday. I had a "ghetto" stage too in public school (grade 7) and it was the KRIS KROSS days! haha and before that... the New Kids on the Block! Grade 3 love! lol I had the posters, and the pictures, and the trading cards and the dolls and all their tapes! we use to make up dances to their songs...lol Then it was pretty much grunge/punk until the raver days. I am still hardcore Pearl Jam fan, and I can never EVER give up my love for PUNK ROCK!!! but I've always loved dancing, always loved "beats" and that'll never change... I was that kid who was dancing around to everything, even if I was by myself! I'll dance all by myself to a song I really like! Madonna has been played in my house for as long as I remember! But I had a wild streak since the minute I turned 13, and I was moms "angel" until she figured out the truth ![]() My moms ran Pride in my hometown for years before giving it up because of lack of local support. Everyone wanted to party, but no one wanted to work! It was always their friends, my friends, and them. We had good times though! House music all the way!! My husband is so anti-dancing and anti-beats of any kind, I wonder how we ever got together! LOL! It came down to our love for Pearl Jam, and wine. I'm sure of it.....haha He's my total opposite in so many ways, but I'd be afraid to marry someone like me. We'd never settled down!

![]() ![]() ![]() back in my day I was more into Isley Brothers and all the old school R&B - Earth Wind and Fire and Ohio Players were my FAV - they can put on a show - Michael Jackson was unreal on stage - I always loved him - still do saw Bobby Brown and Luther many times - they were GREAT - I've seen tons of concerts - but not in years now - oh and Bruce Springstein for Rock - wow was he something else on stage - even tried an Elton John concert - that was pretty cool - he's so talented saw Aerosmith and a few others when a kid -but I'm too far advanced these days with alzheimers to remember Edited - since I want to clarify I'm NOT 120 years old -for RAP - The Ghetto Boys YES and Sugar Hill Gang - the first real 'rap' group ever - Curtis Blow (no laughing on his name !! I used to club with him) and would like to see Eminem - but I'd feel like an idiot there but do have his cd's that I made

My iPod is soooo random. Honestly. I will listen to almost any kind of music. Like I said, the only stuff I was never big on was like punk music. I loved the alternative stuff from the 90's tho. Old R&B is my favorite. I have a few Marvin Gaye CD's. I love Earth Wind and Fire. I loooveee old Motown. You are SO lucky to have seen Michael Jackson in concert. So lucky. I've been a fan of his since I was little and still am a huge one. Also Aerosmith. My dad saw him 2nd row a few years ago (I think 2001-ish) and said they were amazing! Elton John is absolutely amazing too. People always make fun of me cuz I make myself mix CD's for the car drive and I'll go from a Frank Sinatra song to, like, Tupac. lol. old school rap is awesome!!! The crap today sucks. ![]() Even tho I'm only 19, I have a deep appreciation of good music!

| ![]() Patti, you must be a little older than me. My first concert was in '72....Black Oak Arkansas w/ Captain Beyond opening. I lied to my Mom and said we were going to the island for the weekend. Instead, we hitched to New Orleans for the show. We got home about sunrise and sat on the beach...cooling our feet in the water while watching the sun come up. The ticket prices were ridiculously low then. I once saw Jethro Tull at Audubon Zoo for $3.50. The most I've spent for a ticket was $95 to see the Eagles on the Hell Freezes Over tour. They were good but not worth that kind of money. I once drug my wife to see Tom Jones and had a blast. She really didn't want to go but now she loves him. Overall, the early 70's shows were the most mind-blowing. I got into a few of the 90's bands...like Soundgarden, Collective Soul, Pearl Jam and The Black Crowes. My new band I'm into is Them Crooked Vultures. I also am getting into Conor Oberst. There is some good new stuff if you can wade through the crap being put out. I also really like the old blues music with John Lee Hooker being my favorite...hands down. His 'Face To Face' and 'The Best of Friends' are some of his best stuff ever and were recorded when he was hitting 80. Also, his 'The Hot Spot' w/ Miles Davis is incredible. |

I saw Pink Floyd in '74?...anyway, it was the 'Animals' tour. They came on and did the whole 'Animals' album, then they played the entire 'Wish You Were Here' album. They came back and did 'Money' for an encore and that was the show. I used to sneak my camera into a few shows. I would strap the camera body and big ole zoom lens under my clothes and used a 1500 asa film so I didn't need a flash. I have some great pictures of Peter Gabriel and some really cool ones of Jimmy Page w/ The Firm. My best concert photos are of Stevie Ray Vaughan, taken during a Mardi Gras concert on a riverboat. It was televised by MTV and we hung out with the crew and had the best spot for watching the show and snapping pics. Somehow the pics turned out great. That was a small miracle, given the 'circumstances' ![]() | |

| ![]() 'That I can remember' might be the operative phrase LOL. I remember Dr. Hook....."Sylvia's mother says...take your umbrella, 'cause Sylvia it's staring to rain". They also did a whacky song called 'Freaker's Ball' and, of course, 'Cover of the Rolling Stone'. |
